What caused the standard number of episodes for an anime series drop from around 24-26 down to 12?

What caused the standard number of episodes for an anime series drop from around 24-26 down to 12?

the economy

Money it's easier to get weebs to buy more amounts of harem anime if they made them shorter

I read somewhere about it being because of the economic downturn during the 2000's the production companies that finance shows started doing "half" seasons because it was less of a financial loss if the show bombed and now it's just normal to do it in 12 and if it makes enough money do 12 more.

Less shows that clogs available airtime.

because autism

Standard was 13 then dropped to 12.

Cheap fuck studios and increasingly dumber and easier to please audience. Anons today don't demand quality in their anime like they used to.

Japanese economy went to shit

Why are Japan such economylets

Is this yuri

Yes

nice

First series: no, it's straight shouta and only one girl is a lesbian
Second series: yes
Everything after: don't know, never watched

Read about something named "The Lost Decade".
When economy goes down the tanker on any country, artistic things are the first to go down (unless they're really, really cheaper to make) because they aren't essential necessities.

the above reasons as well as the fact that most adaptions are only made to promote sales of the source material.

They're only partly right, see

Because 25 episode shows were full of pointless filler and low quality writing and animation.
It's the same in the West for non anime, the only good shows are the ones with short seasons (or big hiatuses).

>1970-1990: shows are anywhere from 24/32 episodes long, to 51 episodes for larger productions, not including shows that run constantly
>1990/2000: shows typically around 22-26 episodes
>2010's: shows typically around 12, sometimes 13 episodes, or even as low as 11, only guaranteed sellers get a full 2 cour, or a second season 9-18 months down the line
>2030: shows are 6 episodes long, each BD is 1 episode

More shows would get second seasons if nip fans weren't literal bottomfeeders that unironically enjoy mindless moe pedoshit and buy all the merch like the fucking consumerist cattle that they are. If anime studios pandered to the west we'd have much better shows.

Not really; that depends on the story.
Some stories need no more than 12 episodes; others need at least 50.

Go back to your DBS thread.

Oh man, if only superior taste westerners supported superior taste shows instead of just watching fansubs without giving the industry a cent!

CR has a million subs nig

I don't know what DBS stands for, but please defend your enjoyment of moe pedoshit, I'm dying to hear your explanation.

Isn't that turning around? It's a not a big improvement but aren't they're more two cour shows coming out in the recent seasons?

>2040: each series is designed for one particular whale, and is variable length depending on how much cash they spent in the associated game. For everyone else, the soundtrack is replaced by a square wave.

Get a load of this faggot

And those million subs have no influence at all given how CR only pays a flat rate for the shows airing.
You demand quality when you never gave anything in return, while the moefag buys the DVD's, the BDs, CD singles, figs, dakimakuras, everything.
Your entitlement is sad to watch.

Tell me what DBS means faggot.

>defending the retarded nip faggots that cause good shows to not get renewed

Eat shit onii-chan

Oh wow it's been a while since somebody this dumb wandered in here.

Stop being an elitist cunt and tell me what it means you newfag.

Well, they actually support what they like with their wallets. Even if you don't share their tastes they're admirable because they take life by the throat.
Meanwhile you're just a loser who wants everyone else to solve your problems.

Isn't it the fans who want everything to become an anime adaptation? And also cry out "season 2 when" for everything once it's over? And also want dead franchises from like 20 years back to get a reboot?
