Maybe it's just me but it was actually pretty funny, and I very, very rarely find any anime or manga to be funny. It felt like it needed more direction though, as did Rough Sketch. With his characters, art and, evidently, humour, I think both of these manga could have been great. I can't help but think that he wasn't able to put in a great deal of thought or effort into any single manga because he was doing several at once, if he had been able to concentrate his mind and talent on one at a time it feels like it would have been great. I wish one of them could have just been put on hiatus and worked on when the other was completed. I don't think they had to be long manga, both could have been 3-5 vol long with good, tight writing if he started that way from the beginning; I think he would have been capable of that.

You could always try the double approach. Send a short message in basic English like "I am English. I like your manga. Good luck!" then send a Google translated version shortly afterwards. If you work with short simple sentences Google should get the point across.. for the most part. It takes a few seconds but I'm sure it means the world to him to know there's support, especially overseas.
