Just finished the anime. How can any of you defend that shitty ending? They took a perfectly good MC and turned him into an edgy middleschooler with that "people are just tools" shit.

I suppose it might seem edgy with just that scene, especially it being the ending. But it was supposed to make people buy LNs that's why it ends like that.
I suggest reading the LNs to experience a really good alpha MC, but I'm getting the feeling you're not very interested
Anyway, in the LNs the guy is less robotic and somewhat more human, albeit also socially inept. A lot of internal monologues that can't be shown in the anime. His cruel side is definitely there and so is the speech from the anime, but with the rest of him being done better in the LNs it is far from edgy, just makes a good character

Apparently the translator translated vol 7 first cause it was major volume (? not sure) so he's gonna go back to translating the rest of 2,5,6 after 7 (from what i've seen here).

some read in nip. we others mostly pretend we know everything just from spoilers. the big, game changing scene from vol 7 was translated and it relates greatly to vol 7.5. that's why everyone's so excited. also parts of vol 7.5 will be translated very fast after release

The translator just finished vol 4,5 so I think he's gonna go to volume 5 , 6 then 7, after that he gonna translate vol 2 , 3 , but I'm wondering how people can read vol 7 if they do not know what happened in previous vols
