Well a decline always happens, it's just unusual how it bounces back up.

I expected a bigger drop, but it nice to see that people like the manga even when hotaru isn't there.

I like the idea but the execution is not that great. I read in the afterworld of volume 6 that now (as in from when volume 6 is over) he will be able to write what he actually wants, if it is true then I can see why they editor did not allow him free reign.

Don’t know why people complain about the runtime. I thought the first season was unbearably boring by stretching stuff out for makeshift candy commercials. At least now they focus on the characters.

Dagashi Kashi isn't the same without Hotaru. Literally Hotaru's interactions with Coconuts are the only best thing on this series, next comes Yo's antiques. Other than that, Saya and his brother are just too irrelevant and boring to even care about. even Coconuts got depressed when Hotaru left.
