Has an anime ever managed to scare you or get under your skin?

No.
The Eclipse and some bits of Shinsekai Yori come to mind.
You posted it.

Fuck yes, why can't nips just write a decent fucking ending to a good fucking series goddamnit.
It doesn't even need to be happy it just needs to not be fucking shit.

Are you just talking about bad endings to adaptations of ongoing source material?
Those fucked up orphans in the bottom of the 5th layer of the abyss

To be honest, I stopped playing for 3 months after CHOMP but recently started to play it again. It didn't help that I was playing it 2AM and it was dark as hell in my room, home all alone.
Boogiepop Phantom?
You're a dumbdumb
Isn't this from Katsuhiro Otomo's compilation OVA made in the mid-90s?
Robert Carnival kinda got under my skin, albeit not necessarily scary.
This manga kinda fucked me up for a while.
sorry I'll try better next time user
I'm pretty sure anime can't be scary.
Like, I'm not a fan of live action horror because I'm a wimp, but none of the psychological thriller shows I've watched are even close to "scary."
They can definitely get under my skin though.
tip that fedora
Not in a long time because im desensitized to almost everything. When I was younger Junji Ito and Shintaro Kago got to me. I wouldn't say it scared me but it got under my skin and disturbed me a little, like it made me feel sick because it was just so gross and weird.
Theres only one manga that scarred my brain and i've never been able to find it again. Maybe someone will know it. Basically all I remember is its about a village where people flush their babies down the toilet and raise giant turds instead. It was the most fucked up disgusting shit I had ever seen at the time.
...
Really? It wasn't that scary. What parts in particular caused you to feel that?
The test tube scene on Narutaru was really hard to watch
Someone will probably say it's not anime but whatever.
Animatrix.
While it didn't scare me, I wasn't the same after reading that Sunday Lovers chapter from Aki Sora.
It's definitely what got me into NTR.
