No but it's just kind of bland when the self insert MC gets to survive the established rules because he's "special". Even in the story Hiro isn't even top 10 in rank, Ichigo is higher than him but Hiro is just "special" for no reason. Just saying that he's going to survive the Dinoaids because of instead of lacking the bloodcells he has an increased amount of them doesn't make it any less bullshit. They could have just had Hiro lose an eye or have Hiro in a wheelchair for a few episodes instead of having the aids magically get absorbed in his body. It just makes any consequence that the story has feel non-existent.

My point is, the anime is about these "special" people. Hiro and 02, they're both special. A lot of stuff is clichéd, yes, but in itself it's not a problem. All depends on how they're played out. The same story can be told in a gazillion of different ways - some of them are interesting, but most of them are bland as fuck, no surprise here. It's not just anime, it's the same for every media.
