Devilman Lady

HOLY SHIT, WHY DOESN'T Sup Forums EVER TALK ABOUT THIS?
This may be the most convoluted shit I've ever read.
Are both the original Devilman and Lady the best examples of "so bad is good" in manga? Because they are indeed awful, but at the same time they are so honest and crazy, like they were made by a kid who doesn't know how to make good art, but at the same time he doesn't give a crap about it, and just has fun creating whatever comes to his mind, which is completely pure and genuine.

Also I just want Kurosaki and Kaim to be happy, I need an extra chapter of those two just enjoying love ;_;

>Are both the original Devilman and Lady the best examples of "so bad is good" in manga?
No.
>Because they are indeed awful
Wrong.

>like they were made by a kid who doesn't know how to make good art, but at the same time he doesn't give a crap about it, and just has fun creating whatever comes to his mind, which is completely pure and genuine.

ONE did it first, kid.

>Because they are indeed awful
>Wrong.
Wow man, I wish I'd have standards such as low as you, I could enjoy any shit on may plate and even ask for seconds!

My biggest concern was how long it was, the monster of the week got old, and the parts in hell even more, the best part of Devilman is you could just read it on a day, but Lady lasts too much. But yeah, it was worth it at the end to enjoy all the crazy shit that went down.
It's indeed a great example of so good it's bad. I wouldn't recommend it, though, and unlike Devilman it has not that historical importance, so I'm neither surprised nor sad Sup Forums doesn't discuss it.

>most convoluted
Yes, the spinoffs of Devilman are nearly all garbage and only good for the huge milf monster tiddies.
>original devilman so bad is good?
nah, its great

>awful

Bad taste, brainlet

You sound like the guy who made a Devilman thread earlier complaining about Devilman and Devilman threads.

I guess you are one of those who defend anything that's old and popular bacause it's old and popular.
It's ironic people who lack any kind of criteria call other brainlets, but of course mediocres like you can only use buzzwords.

I don't know about any other guy, I legitimately just wanted to discuss this manga because I had a lot of fun with the retarded ending.
But Devilman is genuinely very bad, man, again, it's like the work of a child, but made by an adult.

あれは誰だ?

>"so bad is good" in manga
That's the series in general. It's so juvenile and dumb that it's entertaining and hard to hate on. Someone post that "I laced my cigarette with drugs" page.

あれはデビル, デビルマン, デビルマン!!

I like it a lot, been thinken of re reading it.
This is mostly /m/ territory though thats why its not discussed here.

You told me they wouldn't read further after crybaby, but look at this, they really do.

Satan is the hottest piece of ass in Nagai's manga. Not many can become a handsome guy, a handsome guy and Cutie Honey, and two beautiful women.

I still don't understand why she fell for a bland retard like Akira. He wasn't even handsome before his transformation, just a beta coward.

Are you talking shit about Satan's loyal hound?

The absolute state of nu/a/

...

Akira is Nagai's self-insert

>they are indeed awful
No. Devilman Lady isn't amazing, but it's not awful either. It's not even all that weird until the very end. For the vast majority of its run it's a (mostly) solid action series; it's not all that crazy or weird about how it goes about it either. It stretches its legs a bit with the Hell trip and the end shits the bed, but otherwise it's pretty normal.

Devilman is excellent.

The ending was fine, the magazine that was published was cancelled, so Nagai had to rush his idea, but they were all set up ever since Jun said she would have said the same shit Satan did to God earlier on.

It's rushed and clumsy. Really, I didn't care for any of the ties to Devilman either even if Hell was fun to see.

Devilman is best left alone.

>I have high standards
maybe when you'll grow up and stop obsessing over your "high standards" and being pretentious you'll be able to appreciate things for what they are sincerely.

>it's like the work of a child, but made by an adult.
It's called naïve art and many people enjoy it. Only children like things because theyre "adult" because they're insecure.

You're an idiot.

Autistic people can't comprehend Go Nagai manga because they are heavily thematic, full of abstract imagery and charged with raw emotion. Both Devilman and Devilman Lady are these things but also weave in Go Nagai's wide knowledge of Christian theology and skill at adapting into a sci-fi/horror framework.
