Can we all finally agree that this is AOTS?

Can we all finally agree that this is AOTS?
Objectively speaking nothing comes close to its production value, writing, art and animation, not to mention its amazing soundtrack.
Unless some surprise masterpiece comes out between now and December this is going to be AOTY for sure.

Damn, why do you use the same pasta again dude? At least try to spice up your baits man

Step up your game bro.

This isn't pasta

This might be THE anime that proves the existence of objective quality. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Violet Evergarden is good as a matter of FACT rather than OPINION, and that all criticism leveled against it is reducible to simple misunderstanding. Go ahead and post why you dislike the series. I guarantee that failure to understand some aspect on your part is responsible for the distorted perception you have. Just as 2 + 2 = 4, Violet Evergarden= good. And in the same way that anyone can be made to see why 2 + 2 = 4 through proper understanding of math, so too can anyone be made to see why Violet Evergarden is good through proper understanding of the series. This is the first example I've encountered of an anime that seems to possess intrinsic quality, completely independent of any one person's subjective evaluation.

Of course!
>Kyoani
>award (grand prize!) winning work
>feels more like real novel, at least Charles Dickens/Oscar Wilde tier
>XX century European setting with well-written and mature protags
>real, touching drama, not cringeworthy teen shit
>godtier design far from your typical anime, more like real people, and Kyoani NAILED it
>any single frame from the show looks better than all 2010-2017 shows combined
>worldwide premiere on 12 languages
>thousands of people literally CRIED at the premiere
>the best and most historically accurate WWI battle scenes in anime history
Tell me how this CAN'T be an anime of the century (at least).

Fuck it, I'll take the bait. Is it visually appealing? Sure. Is it some modern masterpiece that will save anime? No.

End of discussion.

>Objectively speaking..
I ain't reading any more than this. Anyone who thinks the validity of their opinion increases by adding "objectively" should fucking jump off a tall building. Go read what objectively mean you fucking retard

How is the story? because it seemed like boring pretentious shit

Surprisingly, it's actually not. First ~3 episodes are pretty meh, but both 4 and 5 are very good, haven't seen 6 yet. They're "drama of the week"-type, but characters are well-written, they actually feel like regular flawed humans.
The over-produced visuals actually hurt the show, because as you said, it gives an impression of something pretentious.

Fuck no, this show is boring

Not the biggest fan nor will it even make my top 20 for the year but I will admit it is probably better than Dahling in the Reddit.

yes for me.

It's been really boring for its entire run and I believe that all but two episodes have been anime original for no reason.

Pure garbage.

>production value
Was high up until episode 4, then fell to average level.
>writing
Was shit from the beginning.
>art
There are constant complaints of questionable palette choices and excessive blur.
>animation
Half of last episode was static shots.
>amazing soundtrack.
It's quite generic and frequently doesn't fit the scene.

VEG looks like an expensive tv anime, it's polished mediocrity.

VEG is hands down one of the worst currently airing shows.

>characters are well-written
Get a load of this idiot.

This.

I feel more excited to watch it than any other anime this season. It must mean something.

what do you think is wrong with the writing?

No, it's boring. Pretty but boring.

>characters are well-written, they actually feel like regular flawed humans
Here's the problem, they don't feel like anything at all.
They somehow managed to make characters that I'm unable to empathise with at all, it's like watching walking cardboard cutouts instead of characters.
I have no idea how and why I should even care about them, the show isn't giving me any reason to.
Compare to Sora yori that manages to create deeply likeable interesting characters from the very start who just feel like regular flawed humans but in a good and enjoyable way.

How do you objectively compare art, writing and animation with other anime?

SoraYori is infinetly better in literally every aspect.

anime flop of the year which is sad considering its a saber clone which should rake in the blu ray bucks

It wasn't worth the hype but it isn't worth shitting on either. I would give it a 7/10. It can be used as a perfect gateway anime though.
