It seems some people are let down that it was a pure battle episode, the first so far. But I'm fine with that. We had all of ep5 for character moments and foreshadowing, it's fine to have an episode that's just the mechas blowing things up.

Hell, we barely had time for all the combat as was, most of the other squads kills were off screen.

02 is best girl and she and Hiro are carrying the show.

Best part of the episode was when Ichigo though Hiro was dead. Otherwise it was just okay.

My only regret was that we didn't see initial 02 reaction to Hiro 'dying'. We get to see her going berserk and calling herself monster instead. Maybe because she felt guilty and responsible for what happened to Hiro? Seeing how she reacted to Hiro falling with blue ONIAids all over him would clear out so much about her character.

The show's alright but not exactly deserving of being spammed up and down the board

I liked it. We were shown growth in PT13's teamwork, from getting wrecked at the start of the battle, to actually starting to become competent. We were shown what a capable squad was able to do and therefore how humanity hadn't been wiped out yet. And finally the sweet moment when Hiro calmed 02 down and they got out of the FranXX together.
I don't think Ep6 was there to answer all the questions episode 5 set up but to confirm Hiro can survive the third time and also his change in motivation for pulling the FranXX.

I really kind of wonder what all the people who wanted squad 26 to be completely wiped out want of the show. I mean it was kind of neat to see that the average squad is actually kind of capable. And it was neat to see squad 13 grow from watching them and even see squad 26 have their opinions of squad 13 grow when they realized that they weren't actually completely worthless.
