Is there a bigger jobber than gohan?

Jobberhan is more like it.

What even is a jobber on Sup Forums

What could have been.

a few things wrong, OP

1) gohan knocked people out
2) gohan did not lose to anyone, he sacrificed himself to remove an annoying opponent for his team
3) jobbing means to constantly lose, but also in a way that makes their opponent appear more powerful.

meaning, if he went up against our boy jiren, and jiren easily knocked him out without much effort, it would be a job.

Sad.

he lost to krillin

Gohan is the yamcha of saiyans.

>meaning, if he went up against our boy jiren, and jiren easily knocked him out without much effort, it would be a job.

Incorrect.

I guess jobbing will be one of those words people will never get right, even though everyone thinks they know what it means.

Gohan losing to Jiren would not be jobbing because there's no indication that Gohan could possibly pose any kind of a threat to Jiren, and every indication of the reverse. Losing to Jiren would not do anything to Jiren's image as a powerful fighter.

Gohan did not job to SSJ Blue KK Goku because everyone knew Goku would win easily. Again, it didn't do anything to Goku's image as a fighter.

Gohan did job to Krillin though because no one expected Krillin to be able to do anything to Gohan. In this case, Gohan losing to Krillin bolstered Krillin's image as a fighter. Hence, jobbing.

The problem with Gohan is that everything that happened to him goes against the set up narrative conventions. We had shit like this being pushed for literally fucking years, and what came of it? He ended up a family man living in his father's shadow.

It's like some sort of bad end doujin that turned out canon.

Vegeta

He only really jobbed to buutenks in the canon material

Ash

vegeta exist to be Goku's power battery whenever he needs to fuse whenever Toriyama decides that random ass power ups are a bad idea and wants to use one that already exists.

Very informative, this is good to know.

Is there an uglier character in DBS than Gohan?

Don't forget user, jobbing can indeed be to a main villain, but the term is reserved for when the power scaling is left vague - a powerful good guy dies to make an unsuspecting or new enemy look terrifying. For example, yamcha to saibamen, tien to nappa, Vegeta to perfect cell as well as final form frieza, for example. Piccolo jobbed to first form cell, gohan jobbed to buu as well.

This. He needed more antagonism to keep him on the path. Litteraly how they set him up. A good natured kid who doesn't like to fight but has insane potential. That due to the circumstances of the time he lives he has no choice but to fight.

Gohan’s potential is like Banaki: the more it gets unlocked via asspull, the less impactful it gets.

At the end of Z, Gohan was the most powerful non-fused character. Goku never surpassed him with his own power.

Yeah. I don't even particularly like Gohan but it always frustrates me how basically the entirety of Z was set up for him to succeed Goku and he... didn't.

That's before Super. Now he's like the 15th and that's not counting the gods and angel and shiet.

One of Gohan's highlight. Shame Toriyama can't even save his own character.

Ash Ketchum

I wonder how assblassted Vegeta fags was during this scene.

Why didn't they have Beerus seal Buu in a sword like he did to the Old Kai?

>At the end of Z
Are you gonna say that Goku didn't surpass him during the 10 years that Gohan went back to not fighting? Even disregarding Super's existence.

Toriyama never made a mistake with Gohan.
Gohan did surpass his dad in Buu arc and Cell arc, he just wasn't successful during the former. Gohan earned his quiet life and actual dream. Goku became stronger than his son after Buu.
But ya, it fucking sucks.
