So far one, but I'm planning to watch it again eventually.

Once so far in glorious Tagalog dub.

How are dubs in that language? I've accidentally watched anime dubbed in English and I cringed immediately

One, I found the plot to be generic to be honest. I really can't understand people who claim this is a masterpiece, the premise wasn't even original. I did like it and thought it wad good, animation and soundtrack was 10/10, but regarding the plot I think it's too overrated. I'm planning to watch it again to see if I change my mind.

I have watched it approximately one more time than Koe no Katachi.

3 times in cinema. I also own the BD.

Did anyone else cry during this scene

>not even original
What other movie does what this did?

What was the experience like in cinema? I pirated the bluray but I plan to buy a bunch of merchandise when I go to Japan later this year

No but I started to cry like a bitch when they turned their heads and saw each other in the end.

I cried like 4-5 times during the second half. I don't know why it affected me so much, I'm usually not very emotionally affected by movies.

The animation really holds up well on the big screen.

Audible gasps when it's revealed what happened to her village. And lots of laughter throughout. It was really a great experience even though I had to cry in public. whoops.

>How many times did you watch Your name.?
Only once

Three times in the cinemas.
Disliked it every time.

What did you dislike?

Hit and miss to be honest.

If you asked me this back in April I could've wrote you a small essay but it mostly boils down to me being disappointed by the hype. I know not to follow along blindly for these kinds of things but the movie ended up being so mediocre overall that it left a bad taste in my mouth.
As for why I watched it 3 times. First was for myself and the other 2 was me bringing people in with me so I can discuss it with them (get to watch movies for free with my job).

That's a pretty stupid reason

At least the cinema I was in was pretty dark, it was nice being able to let the tears flow out instead of forcing them back.

I got bored when they stopped swapping bodies.

Twice. First time with my brother,
second time with my parents.

Are you a girl? If yes, how would you have your brother approach you about anime? My sister a huge weeaboo and I sorta want to talk to her about anime and stuff but I don't have any idea how I'd bring it up

That was the easiest way of describing it. My biggest problem with the movie was the poor way it told it's story, how from time to time the plot would move along due to conveniences suddenly happening. If you'd like I can go watch it again and give you a rundown of things that really bothered me, like the intro with unfitting music that spoils the end of the movie, the montage, not looking at calendars, etc.

lewd

Sure

only once in a movie theater

Agreed. I watched it twice and thought it was mediocre. And no, I’m not a KnK fan, I haven’t even seen it yet.

Only one. Dubbed in Latin American Castillian. I'm waiting for the Mexican BD release so I can watch it subtitled.

>the premise wasn't even original.
You can't name a single show or movie in any medium with an orignal premise.

That's an irrelevant point and says nothing about the quality of the film, it never claimed to be original so it's not like they failed to deliver on some promise.

Them covering her breasts with reflection light bullshit. It's not porn if it's artistic nudity.

watched it 4 times in cinema, another 2 times after the BDs came out. I would probably buy the BDs too somewhere in the future. I'd give it a 6.5/10 considering the story, but in reality I enjoyed it through and through despite how sappy it is.

Maybe its artistic censorship

I lost it at the pen drop. That fucking destroyed me

because its still a child? what is wrong you with you

What a fucking guy, could have just told her and wrote his name so they could have been together for sure but he had to be cheeky

Once in a near empty theatre, once in a reasonably packed theatre, once on pc

Well, it's fairly obvious you haven't seen the movie

I enjoyed it quite a bit the first time, but after seeing it again I thought it was pretty average. I don’t think it’s a film that holds up well after the first watch.

I have i know they get together but it was pure chance

Would it be okay if I get back to you on that tomorrow night? Going to sleep in half an hour and I have a whole day of work ahead of me.

If he wrote his name, it would have been deleted, similar to how their smartphone entries disappeared.

it is average apart from the visuals, i wont contend that. i went to watch it again and again as a way to support it, afterall this is the first time any anime had appeared in the theater i go to, aside from shounenshit movies.

Fuck off, you worthless piece of shit. She’s not a child, and it’s funny you try to argue such a moot point considering you’re on Sup Forums not plebbit, you retarded autist.

The first half of the movie is pretty cliche and while fun comes off as campy. To put it lightly I didn't want to feel like I was actually watching Keitai.

The second half is amazing though and really makes it deserving of the praise it gets.

Fucking retarded brainwashed prick.

Went the theater 4 times when it came stateside last year. Worth every penny.

I don't know why, but I was depressed for like two weeks after watching it. It wasn't even a depressing movie or anything. Anyone else feel that way after watching?

Probably the wonder of what it would be like to experience life as the opposite gender (with an actual working vagina, not some mutilated transpenis) and realizing you never will.

>Mitsuha

>2017+1
>loving biscum

you are simply depressed because as is evident you will never get your own virgin cake mitsuha and hear her make cute noises as you discover each other's bodies having previously bound by literally fate

>tfw no good doujin of Mitsuha

She isn't bisexual

One, it was okay I guess

Don't you just love the way her boobs bounce?
sakugabooru.com/data/f09c51631f656c50bb7222ced4b4f2b5.webm

She's.

Bouncy

>tfw he got to see all the girls changing in the locker room

>Mitsuhaposter~

This is the first nonshounen anime I've watched. Mitsuha was the reason I even gave this movie a try

Not a girl, but we're both weebs already.

>implying you wouldn't go gay for senpai

Does he still have the hair tie/wristband when they meet at the end? I really don't recall seeing it.

Didn't he give it back to her when they met by the ruins of the town?

are you that autistic? just talk with her about it

this is a bad anime
too crude, too shitty to be called an anime
it's more like a frozen solid diarrhea slab.
One watch was enough for me to realise that as with most titles that get popular with normies, it's, uhhh...
I dunno, 6/10? Good art I guess, didn't fancy the generic OST, stupid partially stolen cliche plot, downright counterintuituve ending.
People who praise are probably not otaku, weebs, autists and probably aren't very smart anyway, so there's no reason to hold their opinion in regard.

why would i watch it more than once?

Because it was a really good anime

6
saw it once in theater
really great and gets better with each viewing up to a point
whether you like it or not you've gotta admit it raised the bar for non-ghibli anime feature films if only by a little
he gave it back to her on the mountain and she is wearing it in her hair at the end

Watched it 6 times. 3 in a Western theater, 1 in an Asian theater, 1 from TV broadcast, and 1 from a party. Each experienced is varied in reaction, but overall the 3rd watch made me shed tears and changed my outlook on social life. It really felt like a masterpiece to me from that personal perspective.

like 9 times

I watched it daily for a week after I watched it for the first time.

Just curious but what made you all like the movie so much? Asking as someone who thought it was a mediocre/good movie with great visual effects and some standout audio work.

It actually made me feel like i was being stabbed in the heart

I watched the movie in my country about 1 year after it released everywhere else, and honestly it hugely surpassed all my expectations. All of the characters are lovable, I love genderswapping/body changing shenanigans so the montage was amazing, and the OST is also great. Mostly that and the fact that the climax was very well done and that it had an absolutely happy ending. Had it ended without them meeting again surely there would have been riots in the streets.

Also, Mitsuha's trip to Tokyo is my favorite scene of the whole movie, it's pretty emotional.

As baffling as it is to me to imagine someone watching this movie daily for a week, I'm happy for all of you that can get so much enjoyment out of it.

So, once?

Mine was the impact of the meteorite. Glad you enjoyed the movie.

That feel when you will never find a cute anime girlfriend to swap bodies with.
Why live ;_;

Why it looks like a dick?

A boy falls in love with a girl.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

Keit-Ai has been made into:

>a wiki
>a fanfic
>a fictionpress story
>a manga
>a meme
>a series recognized by TV Tropes
>an anime preview
>an anime episode
>an anime series
>an honest-to-goodness anime movie
>Oscar considered
>a critically acclaimed box office success in Japan
>a worldwide hit
>the no. 1 highest grossing anime film of all time
>a certified fresh movie on Rotten Tomatoes
>a live-action film

Meme magic is amazing.

I don't see the point in watching it in theaters when my sound system is better than the theater's

Really, I think it's mandatory (if you can't understand moon) to have watched the film at least twice to memorize/recognize the script in order to watch the film raw as it was intended. This was what happened when I watched the TV broadcast, and it was such a beautiful experience to see the wallpaper-quality visuals without subs blocking it. Definitely requires the 4K Bluray experience to really elevate from the already-supreme theater screening (at least from where I watched it.)

Stop posting that because Shinkai already made it into a movie.

Once. I'll probably watch it again but the impact will not be as strong. The twist that they were body switching across 3 years genuinely surprised me. Next time I'll be watching for little details.

Why would anyone watch something more than once?
You know how it ends, what's the appeal?

The name is not what's important. She would have probably still forgotten it or it would be erased like all that text on his phone that started deleting itself. It's the feelings that left a bigger impact and knowing that you are connected to someone by that feeling.

>because its still a child?
Meanwhile, Made in Abyss wins CR Anime of the Year

Some of the scenes are absolutely amazing when almost everything you can see is only the screen.

I'm pretty sure the judges had to rig the result to prevent another Yuri on Ice

Is it possible to recommend this to a 'normie'? My sister often asks me for movie recommendations but I've ran out of good ones she hasn't seen. She's never seen an anime in her life

I think Death Note would be a safer bet.

Someday, Sup Forums. Someday for real.

Based.

Coincidentally, I rewatched it yesterday before sleeping. Felt good, man.

Fucking hell, I thought he gave up completely on saving her life that he wrote this on her hand to give her at least some solace before she died.
