Japan Box Office: ‘Doraemon Treasure Island’ Outpaces ‘Black Panther’

Based Doraemon, still the most beloved franchise in there and not allowing capeshit to take the throne

Doraemon is King there, it would outsell almost anything except maybe Godzilla

fucking racists

>Japanese people prefer domestic Japanese entertainment over Hollywood WE WUZ KANGS capeshit
WOW! YOU DONT FUCKING SAY!

And Americans still can't understand why a movie about black Americans in Africa isn't popular in Asia.

To be fair it's doing well in China

It was released in China on Thursday, so unless it's already made $100 million it's not doing well.

Did you mean South Korea, where part of the movie was set?

Well it did make $22M on its first day of release in China. Pretty fast start.

>Doraemon is huge in most places on Earth
>not North America
>not even after Disney dubbed and aired it
What went wrong?

Godzilla is like Star Trek tier in Japan. It's name means a lot, but the fan base is surprisingly small. What fans are their are usually pretty into it though.

The reason Shin Godzilla did so well was that the timing was best after 2014, The main actor and actress are extremely popular and Anno's name still has a lot of pull.

Burgers only like edgy shit

That's the obvious reason.
Now we wait for libtards to find some more retarded ones.

How's Shizuka in this one?

When Doraemon is adventure oriented is just the best.

>It's name means a lot, but the fan base is surprisingly small. What fans are their are usually pretty into it though.
Makes sense. None of the Godzilla films have made the list for top-grossing films in Japan, but a lot of the franchise's movies have a cracked over a million in ticket sales, some of them pretty easily.

>That comment section
Lel.
Black Panther is a OK movie nothing to write home about but at the same time worth a watch with friends
Godzilla is way more popular in the west than it is on Japan.

>Godzilla is way more popular in the west than it is on Japan.
No way. Worldwide ticket sales for Goji have always been poor apart from the two American movies.

>Japan studio actually did those for Disney broadcast themselves, not Disney

Doraemon is quite edgy for a kid's show though.

I've never watched any Doraemon film even though shit's absurdly popular in my country. How are they? Do they compare to the Shin Chan films in quality?

On come on, what problem could you possibly have with them changing the money?

>IT'S NOT EXACTLY THE SAME!

That's why long running series will never be popular in USA, they take the extremely expensive way instead of just dubbing chapters without modifying the image.
