This anime had so much potential to be a serial killer mystery thriller, but they had to ruin it in the very first episode by bringing in some sci-fi/fantasy mumbo jumbo.
Lily was pretty cool.

I never expected to like this guy as much as I did. The way they worked in how he became endearing with how he became somewhat kind to Mayu and his death scene really did the trick.
He was also admirable for being brave/crazy enough to knowingly fight diclonii, and he was smart for fighting them on the beach and cleaning it constantly of any debris. He was somewhat multidimensional, being a callous asshole and somewhat psychopathic because of his background as a soldier.
Truly a tsundere done right, and a rare male one.
