How do you watch your anime?

How do you watch your anime?
MPC-HC + MadVR?
K-lite codec?
Kawaii codec?

With lots of love.

mpv

I burn the files to DVD, then rip them as raw data, then print out the raw data in binary and read it at my leisure

no

On my last PC, I set up mpc+madvr, but now I just use kcp because I'm a lazy fuck.

Whatever the fuck comes with MPC-HC as default.

mpchc+kawaii

I use pic related.

Attached: ccpr.jpg (500x357, 172K)

I print out the frames and make a flip book out of them.

mpv with RAVU or SSIMSuperRes for 720p and above FSCRNNX 16 for anything below 720p

vlc

mpv with gpu-hq

VLC for android.

Baka mplayer

mpv, the only good choice

Streaming, because i'm a retard and I value convenience over video quality.

What does MadVR do? I just started hearing about it this week. I'm content with just using MPC-HC, though.

MPC-HC is officially dead.

Try MPC-BE + MadVR

LAV Filters Megamix with MPC, madvr, and assfiltermod.

Madvr is only worth it if you have an Nvidia 10 series GPU or something equivalent, but I don' think I can ever go back now that I'm used to it.

When you take content that's at a lower resolution and upscale it to a higher resolution, there are different algorithms you can use.

MadVR let you use some algorithms that give better quality upscaling at the expensive of using more CPU/GPU. It also has a lot of other functions as well, e.g. reducing frame judder (basically jagged panning caused by playing 24fps content on a 60Hz screen).

A good open-source alternative is mpv, although you'll need to find a front-end for it. You can find a list here
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/Applications-using-mpv

Uses advanced upscaling algorithms to make your anime look nicer.

Madvr of-course since it is the highest quality achievable on current tech.

>although you'll need to find a front-end for it
no you don't

"Decide" would have been a better word.

I mean it comes with a barebones default, but it's a terrible default.

9anime. guess my cunt

>anime making my gamu cards expensive
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

why would you use that shit that has been dead since 2015?

Why should I use MPC-HC + MadVR over KCP?

It comes with everything you need, timeline, audio+sub tracks, volume, full screen, play/pause, next + prev chapter/file, file title, cached data. What else do you need in a video players UI exactly? Everything that a basic user needs is there and the more autistic users can remember their keybinds for extra shit.

Sounds cool. Guess I'll need to check it out.

MPCH HC, reclock, madvr and SVP
if you're not using the exact same setup, I highly recommend moving to r/anime

Streaming, because it makes anime nerds mad.
Though I download if I know it's going to be a good anime.

Is SVP really worth it?

I literally cannot watch anime without it anymore
so what do you think?

what about sound

mpv because of how easy it is to just throw my mpv.conf file in a folder with a new installation and be done with it.

No you get artifacts around anything that moves a lot of the time, it's okay for things in the same style as the TA1 OVA and ImoPara1 OVA but still not great, google "anime interpolation failure" to see how it fucks frames and then realise that 36/60 of your frames will look like that.

I set up my RSS feed to automatically fetch the anime I’m watching this season. The files download to my cloud folder which automatically sends the files to a file managing app on my phone that can play .mkv files. The quality is worse than watching it on my computer, but it’s not that bad.

If only I could only find a better app that plays .mkv files.

realplayer

mpv of course

mpc hc with madvr of course :)

I just use the RSS downloader in qbittorrent and have SMB setup so I can watch on any device.
Mostly watch on desktop 27" IPS monitor, would be far more pleasant kicking back and watching on a big OLED TV but they are so expensive and I am worried sick about burn in.

Whats the best settings for MadVR?

Reducing frame judder is fine.

Motion interpolating to 60fps is garbage though, for reasons said in .

Depends on your GPU.

Not him but I have a GTX 1050 Ti. Anything you recommend?

MPC like any self respecting human being

Why do you need something that constantly updates? if it works it works

MPC with SVP @ 60 fps

potplayer madvr lavfilters

Whatever player Plex uses now. I believe it's ExoPlayer v2.

mpv because I'm not a plebeian

Anyone upscale to 4k? Does it look like ass even with the higher settings of madvr, or decent?

>download madvr
>no idea how to use it
>go back to cccp

fill up a 2 terabyte hard drive then set it on fire and watch the flames

For basic settings, start at highest on this chart and go lower until you don't have frame drops.

You can check for frame drops with Ctrl+J.

>reclock
Means you can't use Equalizer APO for audio, which is completely unacceptable.
>SVP
Ahahahahahahahaha. Oh wow.

Old chart is old.
NGU for upscaling. Turn on smooth motion. Turn debanding on high. That's the important stuff, really. Play around with the other stuff to discover your own your preferences.

I have a 970 and a i7-6700k.

I never thought I'd be as dumb as Aqua. Guess I'll have to off myself

Mpc- hc and bc. Default lavfilters and cccp mpc portable on my htpc

I don't.
