He's been living as a NEET for nearly 4years prior to the anime, but he has only discovered porn in episode 3. What was he fapping to during all those years?

porn mags

floor tiles

He's got a computer.

he also really never used a computer before and didn't play many games

i can see being a neet if you have a hobby but how are you going to just waste away your life doing actually nothing

Memories of fucking his senpai

>Delusions of fucking his senpai
FTFY

>he didn't read the manga

He fucks her in the anime as well.

Was the senpai a virgin too? I don't remember

this, though it's much more subtle

Trust me, when you're a neet, you become an expert in wasting time.

Wasn't he a junkie? Maybe he on days riding the high

I'M IN THE COOLEST DRIVER'S HIGH

No he doesnt

The dude is damaged. After being fucked over he secluded himself and lost the ability to connect with other people. This caused a viscious circle where the longer he spent inside the harder and scarier going outside seemed to be. So he just passed the time wasting his life and avoiding joining society

Is this anime too depressing?

You underestimate the power of the NEET user. I'm not even a NEET but even I can lay in bed for hours and do nothing without any problems, and with drugs like he had its much easier if you just tripped all day.

I wish I had drugs, all I've got is catnip.

they changed that in the anime, which was a bit disappointing.

It is the anime to kill anime obsession

Nah, it's ultimately a comedy.

autofellatio

He does. Watch the anime again, or at least these 2 episodes.

The average Japanese person at the time was kinda a luddite.

I honestly never thought that. I still think he was a virgin
But thanks for the answer

It's outright stated in the novel.
Also in the novel Yamazaki is a lolicon (in the japanese sense of the word i.e. a pedo) who gives him some illegal shit.

I remember than in the manga they went together to take photos of underage girls too

>I thought they just shared the same bed.jpg

Yes. As depressing as they come. You'll contemplate self-harm. I avoided even slightly depressing anime for years after watching Welcome to NHK.

it just depends on how easily you are able to self insert as him.

>NEET
>Not Virgin
Im gonna kill myself, At least he fucks a hottie.

Got depressed for a month after watching this (im a neet btw)
You have been warned.

neets get depressed by anime where the lead is TOO outgoing. you're projecting baka, entertainment can only make you sad if you reflect on it
it's not hard to have sex, just lower your standards

>neets get depressed by anime where the lead is TOO outgoing
Not him, but as a neet I don't mind series where the main characters are outoging, it helps me to self insert into the main group.
Now something like NHK which is more of a reflection of my reality does makes me feel bad.

it isn't a reflection of your reality, you're real and that protagonist is a product of long research by the author on how to best sell a story about neets. don't project yourself on others, be yourself or start figuring out who you are.

>that protagonist is a product of long research by the author on how to best sell a story about neets
I was under the impression that the author was a neet himself.

lol, that's just for the press conferences and gaining sympathy in a competitive market. would a real neet produce anything of value or go through the effort needed to publish their story?

>would a real neet produce anything of value or go through the effort needed to publish their story?
Maybe, who knows

It's not porn its cheese pizza.

Manga by ex-NEETs are getting more and more common all the time. That's exactly what My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness was.

what is an ex-neet? my definition of neet is someone who's stuck in that lifestyle due to their delusions about life being super countered by reality and crushed by negative events. if you can work out of that lifestyle by definiton you weren't a neet, just someone was temporarily out of work.
i know what the actual definition but i'm talking about us people who're living the neet lifestyle(i personally have crippling diagnosed depression that makes me contemplate suicide 24/7)
