Damn, I'm glad I picked up soul eater where the anime split. That looks like trash.

Looks different even a few chapters later. Still more round and childlike than the anime though. Then I'm sure you saw how it ended up looking later on. I was going to make a comparison but couldn't find a good shot of Soul and Maka standing similar to the image I posted.

Bastard is a special case, though.

Yea I but I wish hadn't. Neither the manga nor the anime had a satisfactory ending. Soul Eater's ending was so bad that I haven't followed any ongoing manga since.

I thought it was pretty good. Was talking about the art style though.

I don't remember much of it thankfully but I remember the ending being premature and unsatisfactory. There was a lot left to do with the characters and them going to moon didn't really seem like it had to be the end. I don't know if the author's contract ran out or he just got tired of writing it but Soul Eater felt like wasted potential to me. The artstyle was very pleasant I agree, but the writing took a nosedive.

I have yet to read Bastard but what the fuck went wrong here?

It's been on hiatus for ages and the author just goes back and redraws old chapters

permanent changes or is freely changing back and forth okay?

I never finished Slam Dunk, though I will someday, but with the guy who has a reputation for being one of the best artists in manga and Slam Dunk being one of the best stories, you do not really get any of that in the early volumes of the series where it's a purposefully badly drawn gag manga

Berserk

It changed for the better, but it took over 200 chapters to get there.

All that fucking gains

I don't know why, but I get this weird sense of satisfaction whenever I see a mangaka's art improve.

JoJo

...

Guy on right looks like he explosively sharted.

The hell? Did he redraw the earlier parts?
Old art is way superior.
