Because why not. My translation could be a little off here and there (and it probably is), but I'm pretty sure I got the point with it anyway. Put your "Radiohead - Creep.flac" on standby.
001 Beautiful things by Tomita Douji ("Things" as in possible "people" or things "things")
008 Screws... Screws... Scre... It's near the second window... In the second drawer...
[Unraveled plushie, an illustrated book with torn pages.] [A show with torn bottom, metal necklace covered with rust.] [Mechanical bird refusing to sing.] [Some ill cat.]
[He did any repairs almost for granted.] There it is. There it is. [That's the only thing he could do to provide himself with food.]
025. We're not buying stolen goods. Y... You got it wrong. I... I work as... A repairsman. Eeh? What's that? Disgusting... Will you kindly bother someone else with that? My apologies.
026 We're sorry. But in this shop we're not buying the second-hand goods. If you want my opinion, you're trying to charge way too much for this. I won't buy any of that. I'm sorry, but we can't help you there. Maybe you'll try your luck somewhere else?
029 I... I'm back. It took so long. Today... Was the first time I ever gone outside in broad daylight.
I want to make you... A proper dress. Made of silk... With buttons made of seashells... Some fancywork with a golden threads. A necklace with a stone. Both expensive. People living on this street are so kind. They gave me a lot of wonderful things.
030 And so I'll make you... A dress like spring breeze... You... [This beatiful thing is a boy.]
You would've loved the white skirt... His male genitals were still intact. [But the repairsman didn't know the difference between men and women.] [And so, he thought he's dealing with a girl.]
[It was a trivial matter to him anyway.] [He was obsessed.]
031 Every skill he polished to this day... Everything... It was like everything was for that exact moment alone. He, the man thrown off well one day into the due to his ugliness...
032 How terrible... Why would someone do that? What did I... do to deserve that?
Looks like stuff like that can happen even on Main Street. Right! It was just last week when someone broke into the jewelry store! They stole some necklace with a stone... ...Cheer up. Everyone's gonna help you fix this. It's gonna be as good as new.
But who would've done things like that? It's scary. Now the patrolling is gonna be even more severe...
so are they all dolls or something, or is this just a metaphor?
Colton Martin
Yup, I sure did. It's "What do you have for me" or something like that then.
Liam Stewart
Yes, humans breaking apart easily is the thing in this story AND a metaphore at the same time, i think. Fragility of life and stuff.
Luke Watson
>gets rid of his one attractive physical feature you win some, you lose some.
Christopher Gutierrez
i love that it ends with this shot. I wonder if he killed himself or merely tripped and fell into the well. either way it's interesting that he's the only one that bleeds.
James Brooks
Forgot to mention, this is an award-winning one-shot, it got Four Seasons award.
