I know it was like that in the manga too, but the cut from Mei reluctantly agreeing to kiss Sara to them having broken up off panel was jarring.
I guess the anime made it seem like Sara could tell that Mei didn't really want the kiss, since Sara looked disappointed about how Mei reacted then surprised when Mei agreed, so that's probably when Sara cut off the date and sent Mei off.

Just watched the episode. It was really cute. I like how they ended it, even without sequel hook. I'm still hoping for an OVA of volumes 5 and 6, but for now I think they ended it well. A bit disappointed that the animation quality wasn't episode 1-tier though. Was hoping it ends with a bang. But overall it's been a ride. Matsuri arc was the best. I'll miss all the Citrus threads, even the shitposting.
