Brown? Yup. Had a solid decade of that and it's only slightly letting up.

Bloom? Fuck you that will never go away unless you play on PC where you have the choice to shut that shit off.

Motion Blur? Not as bad in small doses, but of fucking course devs pump as much of it as they can.

Head bobbing/sway on the camera? Hey guys, do you remember when you're walking or jogging that your view shook like an 8 year old in a bounce house? No? Because your eyes and inner ear are designed to counteract that, because it's dumb and nauseating. Yet devs think this is realism?

Ironsight Zoom? Holyfuck am I sick of seeing that. I'm pretty sure that's not how you aim in real life.

Blizzard is shilling a lot to break into the japanese market, because it is fuckhuge and almost no western developer could get a foothold so far. They cater a lot to animu tasts but the fundamental problem is that most Blizzard games are very competetive and that is something Japanese players simply can't stand. Also, the PC userbase is really, really small so they have to do it via consoles.

I doubt that they will have a lot of success. 2ch speaks a bit about it, but they are overly critical, as expected from jp Sup Forums.

There is a difference between a hard game that you have to play WITH other people, aka monster hunter co-op, and most Blizzard games that you have to play AGAINST others. Japanese really dislike the latter. That is why I doubt Overwatch will take off. With a bit of luck it forms a few circles that specialize on doujinshi but other than that I don't see it taking off.

Well you can play OW with friends aswell but you're probably right that Japan tends to be soft on competitive shooters. It will probably do better than the average FPS but nowhere near a series like MH. But they really liked Splatoon so who knows.

Overwatch is the Mario Kart of first person shooters. It's colorful and has a large variety of characters for everybody from moefags to bara lovers to people with a fetish for power armor/robots. Its easy barrier to entry and gameplay being more based on teamwork than actual technical skill also helps ease in the Japs who typically aren't very good at these sorts of games.

Also all the shorts are constantly compared to Disney Pixar stuff and Japs love Disney.
