>lol you guys remember gwyn XDDD
Fuck off hackazaki, the first phase of the fight was much better
Wear a coat buddy.
>everyone loves the second phase when gwyn's theme starts playing
>I really loved when he ninjaflipped backwards and gave himself power within
That really gave me nostalgia. Like I was fighting every DaS1 character.
Shame the fight is shit.
I didn't want to kill myself in the fight. Chosen Undead was a good boy! He dindu nuffin wrong!
THEY'RE MULTIPLYIN'
I wish the second phase was harder. All the moves are so telegraphed it makes the fight trival
My ultimate dream for the final boss was that it searched your hard drive for a Dark Souls save, and if you had one it would import your old character as the boss, but this was pretty good too.
That's the point. The Soul of Cinder starts spamming Gwyn moves out of desperation, believing that he's the greatest soul and his best chance. And honestly, seeing that his moveset is very predictable and he even has less health, I doubt it.
>I GOT CHILLS
I did too, and its weird because I only get chills and shakes playing eve
but it isn't
>gets down to zero health
>doesn't die
>health shoots back to full
Including the hackers apparently
Which boss in DaS 3 was the typical souls boss where they can barely fight back for lore reasons?
This wouldn't happen cause consoles
No first phase was the chosen undead.
Second was gwyn.
you know. at the end you kill gwyn. Your souls sort of fuse I guess.
I beat it the first try with only 1 summon, had like 8 estus sips left. Sick final boss bro, especially for a """"hard"""" game.
only boss I can think of that does this is king allant
what other bosses does this?
Invaders
Do you suppose solaire was in there too?
Lothric
So is there any in-game lore explaining what the whole eclipse thing is about?
Is it supposed to be the sun "melting" away as the last of the fire fades?
Why doesn't it appear in Archdragon Peak? Does this mean Archdragon Peak is in the past or something?
Lorian and Lothric
Isn't Pinwheel really underwhelming in DaS ?
>lol this game is so easy and I'm so much better then all you lol it's not even hard.
doesn't need to be hard to be a fun fight faggot.

Phase 1 Consumed King or Abyss Watchers (since they're too busy killing each other)
It's a shame you steamrolled him, the fight is meant to be experienced alone.
the Archdragon Peak you visit is a dream
where did I imply it was hard? it could've been a bigger challenge yes, but it's still a boss with cool visuals, really wide moveset and really fair and fun fight
...
They only respond to those posts within the first month
DS3 has been out 2 months
Intentional spoiler: Sephiroth kills Aerith
1 summon
I wonder if the sun being so strong in Archdragon Peak was meant to be a hint about Nameless King?
I know don't want him to be in there.
The thing that made him special sort of was that he wasn't actually special. That is why I was always against him being gwyn's firstborn.
Everyone else is the chosen one of something and is sent there on some mission or another. He is just this really nice guy with a weirdly out of place personality.
I don't want him to have a special soul.
>only 1 summon
this is b8
>with only 1 summon
Wooooow so impressive.
AND I'M LOSING
yeah, but he can still really fuck you up if you take him on early and he gets to spawn alot of clones
It's kind of amazing how much summoning changes his fight. Alone he's pretty formidable. With summons he looks like an old man chasing kids off of his lawn, and failing.
Who the hell is the Nameless King supposed to be?
I thought it was meant to be an old bad ass Ornstein, but is it he just legit nameless dude that was a super bad ass, or is it just straight up Gwyn?
Gwyns firstborn, the one depicted in the broken sunbro statues
Its gwyn's firstborn. There are like 20 references to it.
He is the sunlight statue. He got removed everywhere in lordran because gwyn denounced him after he essentially joined the dragons.
>just passed 50 hours played
>haven't beaten the game yet
I keep making new characters, at least now I feel good with a pyromaner. Cleared the cathedral and on my way to abyss watchers.
CONTROL. CAUSE THE POWER YOURE SUPPLYING
I was impressed at how shit ds3 managed to be
At least ds2 didn't need to feast on ds1's corpse to make a complete game
All of ds3's memorable moments, with the exeption of ithrill or whatever the fuck, are copy pasted from ds1
How did this game get the praise it did?
How the fuck do some of you niggers even like this?
Yo what the fuck. You fucking dick.
I felt like the second phase music was just a bit shit. Only having a few seconds of piano that call back to the fight against Gywn is pretty shit when you're fighting a boss who has no build up and no effort to get to. It simply makes you remember a boss fight which was far more engaging.
There is no Kiln to fight through to the first flame, nor is there a long run towards the final boss. Its just a short run up a slope to a grey field.
The same can apply to pretty much all of DS 3 with Aldrich being the exception.
You answered your own question user. Cause we're niggers.
God how stupid can you be?
IT'S ELECTRIFYING! YOU BETTER SHAPE UP
I keep seeing this, and I see the evidence, but I still think Andre is more likely the firstborn.
>it was originally supposed to be him in the first game, cut for time
>physically resembles him
>Giant's Coal dialogue shows he personally knew the giant blacksmith in Anor Londo
>Clearly thousands of years old, hasn't aged a day
>almost 500 hours in
>can't stop playing
Call me if you find a cure for trying out different builds.
no
>How did this game get the praise it did?
>How the fuck do some of you niggers even like this?
Simple, DS3 is a greatest hits album that only manages to get a few good songs in.
I liked, it was the perfect final boss
a first phase that used almost all weapon movesets and magic, to conmemorate all the players that linked the fire
then the first piano note chimes in, and you fight Gwyn with his full power, although he's easier because there is no bullshit unending combos, I liked when he just shoots the sunspear to the air and a thousands fall from the sky
creating characters is so much fun tho and every time you play the start you get more and more efficient
I get that, but originally planned canon doesn't change current canon.
>but I still think Andre is more likely the firstborn.
No no no no no.
Come on!
They confirmed nameless is the first born.
There is no fucking chance in hell he isn't.
This is not debatable.
>He doesnt play on the Xbone
it's better than gwyn and miles ahead of the shit that was nashandra. still nowhere near gehrman
>its better than gwyn
The first phase maybe, but the second phase is a fucking joke
And even then, the first phase was only hard because of the spear, all the other weapons he uses are easy as fuck to dodge
>herewegoagain.jpg
>a nobody dwarf with no fighting ability or special powers is the son of a god and lord of cinder
The boss is great, yeah. But it had no context which simply make it an odd boss.
The simple question of 'why?' kind of ruins the boss.
I lold
spear was easy, just circle around him, he will try to lock you but fail
now, the scimitar, we can talk about bullshit there
No, but it does give you an idea of where the creator's intent might've been headed.
>confirmed
If it doesn't say "He was Gwyn's firstborn" then it's not confirmed. Do we have that in writing? If not, what's the most direct proof we have?
>invasion failed, timed out
>summoning failed, timed out
does this keep happening to anyone else? hope the patch fixes it
I respectfully disagree
no, the first phase was all the people that linked the fire, including your chosen undead, you can read about it in the soul of the boss
it was meant to represent all the players that choose to link the fire
>he goes into magic man mode
>switches back to spear or scimitar
>has those fucking energy balls still
>one hit and you end up dead by balls + melee
Fucking shit.
>He didn't bait the homing soulmass
It's like you wanted to get hit by it.
I did that, but he circles too much when attacking
I didn't use a shield though because that makes the game too easy, maybe it was that
I found the scimitar to be really simple, you can punish him after all his combos reliably with the exeption of one where he some times throws a 3rd attack in because fuck you.
I had a bug (or maybe it's not a bug) where he kept summoning the magic balls while holding another weapon
it would be fine but he just didn't launch all at once, he always had one in reserve to stagger you
>There's people that use summons on Soul of Cinder fight
>his soul confirms he was a god of war
>curved sword confirms he was from the age of gods
>Dragonslayer Sword confirms the power of lightning comes of his heir
>Leo Ring tells us Ornstein learned from Gwyn's firstborn
>Ornstein Armor is found after his fight and he searched him out
>dragonslayer spear is incredibly similar to the dragonslayer swordspear
I am sure I am forgetting something and there is more.
And yet there are still people who think he might not be the firstborn.
I think you are genuinely retarded. Like you were dropped as a child.
So if he isn't the firstborn.
That means there were two god of wars during the age of gods who both were heirs to lightning able to shoot lightning bolts.
I finally get why everyone hates soulsfags.
>represent all the players that choose to link the fire
Are you telling me that the boss...evolves it's weaponry, tactics, and looks as more people beat it and link the flame?
>he goes into magic man mode
>you can drop random attacks in without fear of getting punished
I think that it was a nice touch, having to fight all the possible incarnations of a DaS1 character + the original Lord of Cinder.
Even though I still like Gwyn's fight over this just because how impactful was for me to fight him.
Out of all the DaS1 bosses, he is the one that actually feels like a challenge without the parry meme of course.
>implying I didn't try to bait it
>he wouldn't fire them off until he landed a hit on me and then I was insta killed
>Can't roll or block the first basic attack
>Get to the end of DS3
>Hyped for what the game has lead me to
>Suddenly some fucker wearing a giant's dad mask jumps out of the bonfire with a zweihander jump attack
>Fat rolls everywhere chucking sunlight spear spears
>Poise tanks and sips all damage I do
>Constantly emoting and dodge rolling when I get near
You can call Giant dad meme cancer, but he was sure fun as fuck to play when the stars aligned. To be fair, I would of accepted a giant dad ultimate as the final fight just fine.
Not a bug, when he summons the first magic balls he gets a blue buff, I imagine thats what keeps summoning it even when hes in another "mode"
>he can't into pressing the roll button
Post DaS feels.

>Soul of the Lords.
One of the twisted souls, steeped in strength.
>Since Lord Gwyn, the first Lord of Cinder, many exalted lords have linked the First Flame, and it is their very souls that have manifested themselves as defender of the flame.
Do people not at least even read the boss soul descriptions? LI checked out on most of the story but there's no reason people should be in the dark about who/what the Soul of Cinder is.
Is there a general best type of element buff in dark souls 3? Like flame or lightning?
Or are all the enemy weaknesses spread average across?
>get to the end
>expecting some manus level shit, huge monster or something
>they must've learned with their previous fuck ups, right?
>big guy in armour with a few weapons
GOTY 2016
Bleed
I was a little disappointed, at first I was like literally who is this? Then figured, oh it represents all who linked the bonfire.
I hope the DLC has pontiff being around still, out of all souls games he has the most shit revolving around him
>+10 Paladin Knight with +5 Silver Knight sword, +5 grasscrest shield and a plethora of powerful pyromancies, sorceries and miracles
Fuck that would so fucking cool.
no
Dark souls 3 happens a long time after Dark souls 1, there has been ton of ages of fires and ages of darks, the soul of cinder is the embodiment of all the people that linked the fire
that's why Gwyn is the last one he encarnates, because he's supposed to be the one who linked the first flame
the first phase of the boss is meant to be remembered to all people who linked the fire
>!!!!!FUCKIGNSOULFAGSIHATEYOUYERDUMB!!!!!111!!!
I obviously haven't read all the material, which is why I was asking what the best evidence was. How could you possibly stand being this much of a sperg? Kill yourself.
>no carthus rouge bundle
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT FROM
That's a running theory, although unconfirmed.
he would evolve into estoc r1 spammer
>get spoiled something like gwyn is in the game
>groan, move on, only thing i'm remotely spoiled on
>fight literally all the game, beat nameless king and assumed someone just fucked with me because all he did was the spear charge
>final boss
>the piano kicks in
>kills me with his 6 hit combo after he transitioned i was so surprised
You can turn a pretty average boss fight into a truly great one with proper context, the same can happen in reverse.
Gywn is mentioned throughout DS1 as this exceptionally powerful giant who linked the first flame, whether you found the fight hard or easy it has weight because of the character and build up. Same applies to Gehrman.
Its also why a lot of DS2 bosses felt meh. They either had no proper build-up or offered no real challenge.
For PvE it has to be fire, quite a few enemies react to fire so it is handy to have.
>I obviously haven't read all the material
Oh sorry I thought with.
>and I see the evidence
You meant you have seen the evidence and not exactly the fucking opposite.
>i need a big huge world-eating monster as a final boss or it doesn't feel climactic!
Actually, i think that Solaire was the chosen undead of his own timeline, he just was in yours because time and space is convoluted because first flame bullshit, so he would very likely be part of the SoC in the case that you finished his questline with the good ending.
But don't worry, i don't think that makes him anymore special than CU was, considering they're then both part of SoC.
