I don't mean MGSV's ending, or MGSV itself, or even the stuff that went on between Kojima and Konami necessarily, but rather the fact that the absolute marvel that is the Fox engine will never be used for anything other than PES ever again. I revisited MGSV recently, and even though it lacks most of the typical MGS charm and follows the formula of a Ubisoft game, its unbelievably fluid and versatile gameplay that turns each area into a stealth playground, and somehow manages to run at 60 fps on max settings and 1080p on my 6 year old machine has kept me coming back. Imagine what else could have been done with that engine, like a 3D Castlevania with world design on par with Dark Souls and a smooth hack-n-slash-esque style. Or, fuck, imagine Silent Hills (or don't because it'll probably make you sad more than anything if you have a soul).
Is there any greater loss of potential that has occurred in the vidya industry?

Konami owns metal grear right? they might try to do remakes of the old game on Fox
Cameron Reyes
I want MGS 6
Noah Jenkins
MGS V ended on a good note, connected the series together and left us with a broken man and big boss.
Asher Harris
I want MGS 6 starring Venom Snake set in between MGS 5 & Metal Gear
Ayden Clark
We already know where venom snakes life went, it's completely unnecessary.
Michael Martinez
I think it's more of a case of wanting more Metal Gear gameplay than story. Truth be told I think the only stories really left to be told is Raiden being turned into the cyborg ninja and maybe this is a HUGE MAYBE Boss's story
Charles Martinez
There is literally no real reason for them to do that. They make way more money off their other ventures, like Pachinko and health clubs, to bother spending any real money on video games.
Ayden Evans
>remakes I hope not.
Cameron Hill
We know when BB life went since the 90' and they still made PW and MGSV
Jace Wilson
>implying they won't retcon all the old games where you play as true Big Boss fighting off fake Big Boss who went crazy
Soon the entire series will just be Big Boss fighting the Patriots with Solid and Liquid being side characters
David Watson
Then starting a new continuity with new characters is the preferable (by far) route for the series to take. Stick a lone agent in enemy territory with limited support, with a dash of conspiratorial intrigue, and there you go. Kojima himself suggested the series do this after MGS4, and I wish it had happened instead of Peace Walker and MGSV.
Andrew Nguyen
There is nothing special about the fox engine
Jonathan Thompson
That would require retconing MGSV itself. But hey, everything has been driven into the ground by this point anyway.
Leo Davis
This is good too. A game set in the "Rising" could be a thing. Maybe the protag is not Raiden levels of crazy at the start. You could choose to go under the knife and start fighting cyborgs in fist to fist crazy combat or stay human and get by being sneaky
Nicholas Powell
>Left us with plot holes and a hell of a retarded plot twist
I'd even take Peace Walker closing the series to MGSV, though 3 would be even better.
Tyler Flores
...
Ayden Adams
I just want Raiden in a stealth game again.
Levi Hall
3 would have been the perfect closer to the Big Boss story, everything that happens between 3 and MG1 can be inferred by the player, they didn't have to drag it out for 3 fucking mediocre to terrible games. 4 was necessary but was too distracted by trying to tie up every single loose end in the series and that it forgot how to tell a coherent story.
Ayden Brown
>MG2 >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
>MGS1 >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
>MGS2 >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
>MGS3 >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
>MGS4 >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
>MGS V >this is the last metal gear game, please buy
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS
Justin Evans
>4 was necessary It wasn't. Things should have been left alone with MGS3.
Asher Cruz
>MGS V >this is the last metal gear game, please buy He's right in this one though.
Liam Rivera
>No-one but zenimax devs will use id tech 6
Seriously, what is it with devs/publishers not wanting to license out their engines these days?
