I don't think I ever got to see the end-end-game monsters in 3U but Khezu was my favorite. Just scary as shit but still fun to fight (if you brought enough antidotes and warm drinks.

Kind of less bearable actually. He has large hit boxes and has several poison attacks, one of which is a Gravios style burst attack within a good radius around him. I just think he looks cooler. The Baleful Subspecies does electric and stun damage like the khezu, and it's much more fun to fight.

He can only stay on the ceiling for a set period of time and is then forced to come down as opposed to just fucking around up there for 5 minutes like Khezu can.

Also he has music.

Can you imagine a monster hunter where any damage that occurs is real? The death count for hunters would be crazy by being hit in half, stomped on, being turned to ash.

On the other hand the damage you can inflict on monsters would add a new depth to the game if you can chop off limbs or cut them open and their organs start spilling out.


Or there's a wyvern that's so huge, you have to go inside it to kill it and it has water sections where you bring in barrels of air with you.

They've lessened the bullshit one hit kills now. It's a lot better fighting them in 4U though there are some souped up versions that get the one hit kills back. You can tell them apart by the reward money on the quest info.

F Zero isn't that fast though, if you play it for muh speed then you fucking suck

It's a great game because of the tightness of the controls and the high but fair difficulty. It just feels fast because the controls are sensitive and the speedometer says 9999mph

This thing looks more like a parasite that latches onto massive dragons or something.

Its still a shitty monster that should be forgotten.

My point is that the game reacts so well under "high speed" that you never get the feeling of hurtling down a road at a million miles an hour. It's like a regular racer that just requires decent reflexes. Something like Extreme G 3 or the Wipeout HD zones feel significantly faster since your handling is affected as you get faster. Even shit like Gran Turismo can get a better feeling of "holy shit I'm going too fast if I don't slow down I'm going to die" when you're on straights.

It does, though. If the game is consistently 5000000mph you have no context for if you're going fast, the speedometer could say 150 and you wouldn't know any different. You're nearly always at that speed, but when a realistic game puts you on a straight at 300mph but you're constantly fighting the game's physics and the road traction etc you feel like you're comparatively faster. You know you need to anticipate what's coming up, know exactly where everyone else is on the track so you don't trash yourself.

That applies better to rathalos and rathian. Fatalis is at least an optional endgame monster so annoyance is generally expected from that. The raths are boring and over used monsters. They both have three variants now, plus a new one each in MHX. I am sick of seeing these boring reskins of these garbage monsters. There's barely anything different between them all. Let's be done with this trash and leave it in the past for future games. Remove rath, receive new.

If you want fast, I'd recommend Extreme G 3. You can go so fast that you break the sound barrier- you're overtaking the sound of your own engine and the music so everything cuts out and goes muffled on straights. It' something else. It's one of the few games that does speed really well.
