I'd recommend Ky over Sol but they're both good places to start.

PS3 version looks quite a bit worse. Lower resolution and it doesn't have the new fancy lighting that the arcade and PS4 versions have. I don't have any comparison images. The game runs mostly fine on the PS3 though.

If you bought the US version there is no dlc to give it's just free for 2 weeks on psn.

While the hat doesn't bother me personally I don't know how they could possibly put a hat on him during combat. No way that thing would stay on, not with the way he moves.

I just assumed that was something he wore for the story and would just not be there during combat (or fall off on the intro of the fight)

Are you ok with fighting games? The game's harder to get into than SF but it has good resources for study and one of the best tutorials in modern fighting games.

Jack-O does have very simple execution though, if that's something you're looking for.

Jack-O is quite effective actually. All her basic stuff is very easy and you can rape unprepared players with her. Advanced stuff is much more complex for her though.

In XIV you're still going to have to learn to do advanced shit with the system. The only way you're ever going to get good at fighting games is by practicing.

it's a sequel. it's full price but the ps3 version is cheaper. whether it has enough for you to want to spend that much on it i can't say, depends on how you see value in fighting games.

Anyone know if there is any decent Raven info out there? I've been trying him out and his combos are mostly short and easy. Seems like you need RC, a counter hit or a lot of excitement gauge to do any decent damage. Anyone knows if he has any corner combos granting big damage or should you just keep them short and end in knockdown>236H every time, even in the corner?

well the reason i'm getting it is because i play this game competitively and because i don't want to play an outdated version anymore. like i said, it's hard to determine value in fighting games because it depends on the individual. if my description doesn't match you then you might want to wait.

MF cancels are not hard, you're just doing his MF motion and hitting an extra button.

Normal mist cancels might not be that terrible, Johnny has some pretty execution heavy stuff. 2H>lvl 2 mist cancel>air dash is hard and so is mist stance dash treasure hunt.
