Probably not the same, it's not the same developer, it's on a completely different engine 12 years later, and all the code for that technique is long lost and no one knew how to replicate it. Since Spider-Man 2, which is the best game, it has been. His entire thing is swinging around solving crimes in New York, it kinda fucking lends itself to an open world game. The only non-open world game that was good was mysterio's menace and the Spider-Man 1 video game, which was only alright.
Considering outside of Batman there hasn't been really any capeshit, Spider-Man being an awesome hero, and needing a good SM game after fucking ASM2, it only got my boner going.

Well we already know Mr. Negative is going to be in it so we can count him as a sub-boss. The other sub-bosses that could work with that are
1. Anti-Venom If Mr. Negative is in, I want Anti-Venom too. 2. The Rose This might seem like a bizarre choice but hear me out here. If Negative is in, then a gangwar story is inevitable. I think the Rose would be best suited to be the leader of the opposing gang. We already had Kingpin in the ASM2 and Spider-Man 3 game so I want his son instead. If not him, then Silvermane or Crime Master could easily fill his role. 3. Tombstone He's never been in a Spider-Man game and also works with the streetcrime thing. Hammerhead could also easily fill his position. 4. Beetle I didn't know who I wanted for the fourth one so I guess Beetle would work. Either classic Beetle or Janice Lincoln Beetle. Hell I'd love to see the other Superior Foes make appearances too.
The main baddie can be The Green Goblin. I know it's an obvious choice but we haven't seen a good Green Goblin in a good game since the PS2 Spider-Man 1 game.

Aside from the horrible voice acting, dumb story, moonswinging, and overall low budget nature of the game I'd say the worst thing was the menace meter which was literally impossible to keep in the positive and so you constantly had to fight Fisk drones and do stupid copypasted side missions to keep it under control. They never left, Ratchet and Clank Ps4 came out 2 months ago. Sunset Overdrive on Xbone was a bit of a "fuck you" to Sony because they wouldn't let Insomniac own thier IP's, but they never really stopped working with Sony.
I'm sure both Insomniac and Sony regret Sunset not being on Ps4, a AAA exclusive would have helped Sony immensely in a super dry year, and it probably would have sold much more since all thier fans are on PlayStation.

She basically moves around the city the same way Spider-Man does so it wouldn't be that difficult of a translation, but she can have a totally different playstyle with different gimmicky gadgets and stuff instead of just "Spider-Hero number 12 that's basically just spider-man but with one or two different combos."
