Yes.
Both are very worth it. Ages is more puzzle oriented, Seasons is more fighting.
Hell yeah.
Ages is more puzzle oriented, Seasons is more action. If you beat them both, a "true" ending is unlocked and you fight Twinrova and Ganon.
They're both great games on their own right and even better together.
Yes, they make up a great game when combined. Honestly my favourite Zelda games.
Here have a song.

Yes. Seasons is better.
Yes, just rebought them myself.
Looks great on the DS.
Only gripe is that the virtual console uses the GBC instead of the GBA.
This means you can't enter the GBA only shop.
But the only unique item there is a useless ring.
Yes. Theyre good
Fuck yeah, there's an awful minigame though.
Which one should be played first? Or does order not really matter?
Doesn't matter, I always do Seasons first.
Seasons is the best Zelda game
Doesn't matter. There's no continuity between them. Do play Seasons first though, Ages has harder puzzles, it'll warm you up to it.
Linked Seasons>Linked Ages>Seasons>Ages
>Remix
Fuck off.
I suggest OoA first and then OoS. and then back to OoA for the LttP ending
YES YES YES YES BUY THESE GAMES
BUY THEM
BUY THEM
Ages dancing was cancer.
Season dancing was quite easy
It doesn't matter but I tend to Seasons first.
If you wanted to go full autism though, you could do
>A Link to the Past
>Seasons
>Ages
>Link's Awakening
since it's the same Link in these games.
I meant links awakening. I think thats how you had to do it. Codes and linking got pretty crazy
Do yourself a favor and play Link's Awakening first
>Are they worth a purchase?
You tell me

I will be honest and say I didn't listen to the video before sending it. I thought it was the original.
They are the best 2D Zeldas so yes.
Not OP, but thanks for the heads up guys. One of my buddies was talking about these not too long ago, and he said they were his favorite Zeldas.
I'm playing Ages for the first time right now. Pretty good puzzles I have to say, that Crescent Island part where you need to get your items back was really cool even though it made my blood boil for a while. I'm currently finishing up the third dungeon.
How is Seasons? Also I still think Link's Awakening is the best GB Zelda overall.
Season is great. Age is one of the most bullshitest Zelda game I ever play because the goron dance. Not only you're force to do this, but you have to be precise to get it right or fuck off. Oh and dont give me the GIT GUD crap, I want to play a zelda game for puzzle and slash, not this fucking bullshit minigame.
They're gooder'n'fuck
It's great as well. Honestly if you play them both together you're in for one of greatest game experiences.
Not wanting to meme you but git gud.
I managed fine when I was 7 years old.
Literally git gud. This part wasnt even half hard.
Emulate them.
This is like saying they should add a hard stealth portion of Doom where you cant attack anyone or a precise sniper shot target in a racing game. Fuck off and die.
They're great. Ages is Plot/Puzzle focused, Seasons in Action/Adventure focused, but they're both worth a play.
wow what a thought provoking and original thought
Great post, but how do I upvote?
>buy
lol
look at this faggot
It's not our fault you're bad at it.
Ages is probably the best Zelda game for me, never liked Seasons as much but both are amazing.
Screenshot, post on /r/Sup Forums, self-upvote. Then stay there.
Seasons is fantastic. You can skip Ages though, its not very good.
>Seasons is good, Ages is bad
>Ages is good, Seasons is bad
>Both are good
>Both are bad
Definitive answer: They are both excellent.
Literally noone said they were both bad.
How does the "linking" thing work and does it work on a 3DS?
Once you beat one of the games you get a password which you input in the Secrets section when creating a new file one the other game.
Yea, it works fine on 3DS. It's a unique password system where you're given a code at the end of the game to put into the other one.
I wrote mine down in game notes and made a restore point at it just in case.
They are both great. I prefer Ages because of underwater. It benefits more from password unlock so play Seasons first.
On that note, what's the best way to play it? Should I play both games twice? Once with and without passwords?
Should I play each game once, but only one of them with a password? How big is the difference?
I'd play Ages first and then Seasons with password because there's a side plot in Ages that only gets finished in Seasons linked game and I that that is bigger than the changes Ages linked game has.
stop this
dicks lol
It's hilarious how split the opinions on both games are.
It has been quite a few years since the last time I played them but I believe after you finish a password game you still unlock the password to put it back in the other game. So if you finish password OoS you get a password to play OoA again.
Also, if you are playing password OoS, throughout the game you will get passwords to input in your original OoA save (where you got the password for OoS) to unlock lvl 3 gear and other unique items you'd only get from a password save. So you don't necessarily have to replay the game to unlock the items (it's still worth it though for the other stuff).
>on sale
HE BUYS ROMS
They're both amazing Zelda games. People like one of the the other all the time, just pick your favorite color first.
Probablu.
+ Objectively good games
+ Decent soundtrack
= More action-y that plot/atmosphery by Zelda standards, due to Capcom
- Not as tight an experience as LA, some parts are gimmicky, scrolling dungeon rooms is a questionable feature
I myself loved the games when I played them as a kid/teen. But they didn't age well, and I definitely find LA more fun now in spite of the Oracle's advantages.
Anyone got a list of the whole sale?
>Should I play both games twice? Once with and without passwords?
Yes. That's exactly how you should play both games. You play Ages -> Seasons and Seasons -> Ages. Doesn't matter which one you play first as long as you play unlinked and linked games of both.
Play Seasons first if you like manipulating the weather more.
Play Ages first if you like manipulating time more.
There. Problem solved.

I forgot some points:
+ Crescent Moon Island is ace
+ Linked game is a cool feature, all said and done
I cannot believe that there is always at least one post presenting this as an actually insurmountable obstacle.
So you're probably going to fail this once or twice, big deal. You'll eventually get it.
I refuse to believe there are people out there who are so musically inept that they actually can't win this shit.
Why do people get so upset at the fact that other people value money differently?
These games cost the same price as a cup of coffee.
I'm half in agreement with this. On the one hand, it's the same phenomena as all the bitching about water dungeons in the 3D games, which is the same crock of shit over and over. We get it, most people are irrational hydrophobes. OoT's water temple is objectively the worst dungeon in the game, but come on.
But on the other hand, the Goron Dance REALLY sucked balls. Almost unecessarily, as they weren't trying to incorporate a water gimmick into an entire dungeon or anything.
coffee exists
Not really if you've played them before, but if you haven't then it's a fun ride.
Pirates are like vegans. They take every possible opportunity to bring it up, not because they honestly believe in it, but because they've gone through the effort of doing it so they feel the need to be smug about it.
>buying cups of coffee
>there's a side plot in Ages that only gets finished in Seasons linked game
Wat
Yeah that whole thing about the Queen building the tower to look for her lover.
>buying
Oh shit yea. I forgot about that.
That decides it for me. I've only played Ages once, for only one hour, like ten years ago. This "Queen building the tower to look for her lover" thing is the only thing I remember from the game and I wanna know what the conclusion is.
I'll play Ages first then.
I suppose you're right, there is a strain of pirates with a smug, puritan bend. I can't resist puns so I'm going to call them Piratans from now on.
