Kum was free for 2 weeks and Elphets costume is 100k world dollars or from fishing not just the $3

I fucking hate games with dlc but it was free and it was announced, its your fault you couldn't be bothered to look up information weeks before the game's release. Also no one is making you pay for it fucker, and even then it could be a lot worse, look at fucking SF5

My complaint is that I don't know if I even want the character. They need to offer the character as fully playable in training mode for free as a sort of "try it to see if you like it" deal. Obviously you'd have to pay to play as them in arcade, versus, online, etc.

Even excluding this, they have at least 30 costume premiums that are 3 dls each.

That's costumes, not characters. Arcsys doesn't even offer costumes at all, save for instances like Elphelt or Noel.

sure having a trial mode would be nice, but there is really no need for one when it was free for 2 weeks and there are a fuckton of videos to research and learn about their playstyle

The only copy of SF2 I own is the original Turbo. I didn't even know that there was a version with new characters until like 1998

Because cosmetics are not the core of a fighting game, while characters are. Even goddamn SF5 lets you unlock every character 100% free of charge if you play enough.

This is the exact same shit that happened with BBCS to BBCS Extend:
