And god this is REALLY hard, I swear I probably improved more in 2 days than before in MONTHS. This kind of challenge is really a kind of crash course in splatoon.

I feel you. Sometimes I get easy matches where I stomp the opponent (recently won a match 86% to 7%), but when the good players come out goddamn are they good.

Some of the team scores on these Callie players I'm fighting are jaw-dropping. I just fought, within two matches of each other, an 1880 team, and a 1940 team. Our team is currently 1580, and it went about as well as you can expect.

If Callie ends up winning, I really gotta respect them, because they put up a magnificent fight.

Yeah, even if sometimes somes are so bad you wonder what they are doing there, a big part of them are REALLY THOUGH.

And I just bugged and had a fight without music until the 1:00 min one,that felt.. reallly strange.

I thought the Splatfest last until sunday?

I literally just started playing 20 minutes ago.

I wish my teammates would stop standing at the base. I have no clue how Callie is going to win at this rate.

We were winning by a decent margin, then suddenly two of my teammates disconnected and we get stomped.

What? I thought it went all weekend.

God, this feeling when you find a perfect team or at least a teammate who plays with you for long enough to understand how you play without you saying a word. It'sreally something and GOD does it change the match. Really. The lack of voice chat isn't that annoying once you get this.

They don't plan on stopping updating at the very least. So proably for a while.

I feel bad Nintendo made this last Splatfest about Callie vs Marie, and with the sisters being so serious about it too. It's a shame to end this series of silly competitions in such a sour note.
If only they'd pull a big switcharoo like so many anons post in these threads (like the whole thing being a setup for an Octoling invasion, or ending in a forced tie) but I really doubt it.
Gotta save something for Splat2n, I guess...

Callie players, any thought On Marie's teamsand skills? I haven't seen a lot of Callie players not just going into insults on the last thread and I wonder if the ones you were against were as completely ridiculous and pushovers as some of our allies or not.

At the very least there has been a lot of Marie vs Marie matches. And you're an ass but that's not important.

Do you think we will get the night time stages and Splatfest songs as an update or as part of amiibo/DLC? Or will it just live on in our memories of the fun times we had?

Yeah, and in my case it was mild, I've heard that it was worse for some. Oh well I guess we will see the most popular one at the end.

I consider myself to be decently competent at this game and team marie has been kicking my ass with near-professional accuracy. Even in matches where I manage to get a good 1200 points, I just can't get a leg up.

That said, there was one match which really made no sense to me. The entire time there was this asshole with a bucket on my team who made it a point to follow me and paint over the areas I was painting, then double back and cover corners, even in the middle of fights, while the other two guys on my team absolutely disappeared. By all rights we should've been raped but we won 80-14.

Didn't feel good at all, though

historically speaking the less popular team have always won, just wanna put that in perspective

Maybe they could do something crazy like, have the stages be in night mode at night and day mode during the day.

Tis being said I've seen a surprising number of lvl 7/8 that have at least a lvl 40's skill. I wonder if that's beause of a double account or if they are just naturals.

I haven't done a lot of other splatfests but the ones that I remember were way different from this.

honestly my biggest problem has been people with normal shooters trying to compete with rollers on their own team when covering turf, and rollers that make it a point to push you out of a certain sidepath and then just leave the entire thing unpainted. It's terrifying when there's less than a minute on the clock and a good 20% of our side is still clean.

I fell for that in the first splatfest but ever since I always check the map at my first death to do the job. always fun too see the enemy team made the mistake though.

and you do very good, it feels like a lot of people don't care about the gamepad at all when it alllows ou to locate the opponent most of the time but searching new paint.

so what's with all the guys who jump blindly and take 10 seconds to end up half a foot away from spawn? It happens so much in Moray Towers which makes no sense as it takes less than 5 seconds to get to the bottom just by jumping down

I found a team about halfway into Queen and we won like 15 matches back to back. 2 rollers, a charger, and me with a .96 playing Support. It was amazing how well certain people can work together. I did it all for Marie.

You're not. I started the splatfest by getting my ass kicked many, many times. Now it's the exact opposite sincce a whil (as I said, crash course) , but most people were certainly surprised bu the SHEER BRUTALITY of this one.

You did great. yeah, after a few matches it becomes impressive. I'd like something like being able to show a point of the map, that would be cool, but even without that, you sometime achieve impressive results.

Ok so i finally got all i needed to play again for the first time since something like the second splatfest and unfortunatelt i was only able to fet things together with about an hour and a half left. I figured since its been a while since i played id try and get used to the gyro controls since everyone says they are best and i was no longer used to any controls and honestly how do you make this not ruin the game for you. It feels clunky and I cant get anything done.

I turned that shit off as soon as the tutorial was over, it's useless. Everyone seems to say "oh it's so much easier to do better with it on" but I was doing just fine and winning most matches with the analog sticks.

DAmn, turf war feels empty compared to this. you just feel that people aren't as serious toward it than in the splatfest, there isn't the same pressure.
