Could it be the end of games for me, Sup Forums? I used to be able to cut Magic Trees for hours. I could kill Pinkies for days. Needed to kill 10,000 black birds for a Manta Ray Mount? NP. But these days even though I have all the free time in the world still I can't be assed to grind in video games anymore.
I'm the opposite. I finally got a big boy job and have all the systems/games I could ask for and then I got back into a certain MMO for nostalgia's sake - now I'm all about that grind and I basically work two jobs every day. I look at my huge backlog of fun games and all I see is xp waste.

I think you're seeing the games for their mechanics and since a lot of MMOs share the same shit, there's very little novelty to them to hold your interest. Plus, they tend to be shallow games with grind to pad out your playtime cuz subscriptions and cashshops to help you get ahead

Nah the game is alive but everything is inflated as fuck. A lot of accounts were deleted back in 2012 I believe. They had a thing where if you didn't log into your account before X date your account was going to get deleted. No point in playing now though. The game went to shit after V8.

Anyone with half a brain eventually switched to a good private server because holy inflation, then eventually stopped playing because of lacking endgame content. Since they stopped shilling everywhere the population withered. I'm inclined to say though that it had a decent run for how painfully pay-to-win it was. I think lots of MMOs tanked when MOBAs caught on. I mean is shit like Metin or Aion or whatever doing any better?

I didn't quit because of queue times. I just didn't have it in me again to level to 45 again. I'm the guy that only has one max level and never levels anything else ever. Once I level up to max the first time I find it incredibly boring to do it again. I don't see how people have a max level and geared character for each class of said game.
