Yeah nah.
lol millennials and their gay nostalgia. now excuse me while i talk about the glory days of playground rumors and subscription video game magazines
yes, literally the only humans alive who will understand that are 90's kids, the 80's kids who were 19-21 years old has absolutely no idea what this is.
>mfw I don't understand
I've never been so happy.
Even better, I'm a 80's kid, that means that I can be a condescending hipster to the 90's kids for not understanding the glory of experiencing Atari gaming and NES instruction manuals.
...
>tfw cheats are a thing of the past
>not owning the cheat code book with 1000 games in it
its a meme to mock 90s kids because we were the twilight before the dawn of global SJW and islam and everyone who missed out on that are haunted by the notion daily.
imma early 70's gamer and i don't understand.
>being a furry before 2000
>not owning the cheat code book or going on gamewinners and printing out all the cheats
besides the fact this game came out in the 2000's
>yfw you dig up your old binder of written gameshark codes
That feel when born in 1990, but grew up poor so only system until 1995 was an NES and Game Boy.
Good times.
>yfw no matter what you do the gameshark fails to load with that one game you want it for the most
Nah, they just require a different kind of input now
This would be funny if it wasn't true.
shut up granddad
Fuck off, kid.
>that ridiculous block of characters you needed to write down for transferring Golden Sun saves without a 2nd gameboy
>only Turkish coup plotters will understand
>90s kids
>san andreas came out in 2004
>being a cheater shitter from day one
70s kid here too. playing since the dawn of gaming itself.
>input codes manually
>that one code is ~30 lines long
>spend an hour proofreading it
>still doesn't work
I used to write down egg groups from pokemon stadium 2 so I could use them in pokemon crystal.
same shit idiot
>those instruction manuals that came with extra blank pages so you could write down level codes and shit
I was born in the 80s, but I was so poor that I didn't have any gaming systems at all. Except game and watch.
>via 9gag.com
I cant read it 9gag, it's too fucking small in resolution. Are they cheats? Why would you not print that shit?
Here's a dlc that literally just adds more cheats to the game. It's also on disc.
Millennials still had both of those things.
uh wut
thats the joke
printers were a luxury, "back then"
been thru all the feels.
i'm 23, back in my day we played jacks down at the soda fountain
On disk dlc should really be illegal. Making the consumer pay for something they technically already own is completely unforgivable in modern gaming
I still do this desu
I'd rather go to a FEMA death camp than pay for cheat codes
>printers were a luxury in 2004
they weren't
But it was literally the same thing, where do you think those codes come from? You sound like a kid trying to look older than what you are.
>gameshark
Code Breaker was better. :^)
>cheats
>not password saves
fucking kids
Capcom did a lot of that in the peak of their dlc greed days.
Dead Rising 2 or DR2 off the record charged for fucking big head mode if I recall correctly, and it was probably on disc as well
I think so? Born in 91
I remember Nintendo power and getting a 64 for Christmas. I remember getting a gameboy and Pokemon red when it was new. I still have a Sega Genesis in the basement.
only 90s kids remember this XD
>yfw on disk dlc is literally a one digit value in a line of code, and all you do is pay 5-10 dollars for that 1 to become a 0
>only 80's kids will understand
Where was moon man during the LA riots?
>not having a printer in the 90s
ps2 wasn't out in the 90's you fucking retard
>where do you think those codes come from?
the internet
Me and my buddy would do this for vice city, and then again for san andreas when it came out. good times.
gtav just doesn't have the fun cheats like san andreas did. Where are the flying cars? where's chaos mode? where the FUCK are the flying cars?
this and cheatcc
Holy shit, this was me but with GTA 3.
I don't remember this
But where did the internet get them from?
take pics of your printed out cheats from "back then"
show me yours and i'll show you mine.
when not living on mum n da's dime, in 2004, printers, paper and ink...were a luxury.
The fuck they were. I had one too even though we were poor as fuck.
really makes you think
who paid for it?
San Andreas came out in 2004. Cheat code websites existed back then and so did printers. I just printed the cheats and kekked at the faggots without printers
>Find hack online that does the most amazing thing
>You want to try it so badly, more than you want Christmas next year
>Try it a dozen times
>Nope
It's time to make an impact
I wonder whatever happened to the $5 I used to preorder Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms, way way back in the day before Hat Fortress 2 was even a glimmer in Gaben's eye.
>mum n da's
I fucking hate you australian people
I could never get fucking the fucking wampa cheat to work in shadows of the empire. At least I got the alternate ships for the skyhook battle.
>Show me printed paper from 12 years ago or you didn't have a printer
Holy fuck dude your family didn't have a printer, that's fine. It was extremely common and you could even go to the library if you were poor. Holy shit.
Not him, but I printed out a ton of stuff from cheatcc back in the day. Printers were most definitely not a luxery in 2004.
>Remember
Why would I want to remember? I didn't enjoy writing down cheat codes, or even hoping that the ones in those books even worked.
Damn, I can't imagine what it's like to be a 80/90s kid and still be interested in video games
Can you imagine growing up and seeing that you're no longer the target audience to your favorite games and franchises?
How you're no longer pandered to?
Can you imagine just getting upset and angry that kids younger than you are being pandered to instead, and getting at those kids just for being younger than you?
Knowing that your carefree days as a child are gone and they'll bever come back no matter how hard you'll believe?
They're baby boomer and gen X spawns that manage to somehow be just as bad and butthurt, it's kinda funny that they get mad at younger generations without realizing that their grandparents probably feel the same way about them.
No wonder why nostalgiafags are so obnoxious and butthurt, they're just trying to relive their younger days, it's kinda sad, y'know?
haha
Dead Rising: OTR literally sold cheat codes as a DLC
>mfw all these underage retards think they know what the fuck they are talking about
Well, I was born in 87 so I was a kid in the 90's. Specifically for GTA SA I had a few pages of an old notebook with its codes written on it, that was fun. I can't remember cheats for other titles though, most of time I wrote passwords of games
Nice pasta
You must be from a poorfag family. My family has had a printer since the late 90s and we weren't even well off.
>How you're no longer pandered to?
>Can you imagine just getting upset and angry that kids younger than you are being pandered to instead
I wish. More like companies pander to the kid's aunt who has never played a game before or the games r art tumblr faggots.
if you've read the little agreement/contract thing on the inside of the manual whenever u buy a game that's on a cd, there's this whole bullshit clause that by buying the disk, you're not "buying the game" but rather "buying a license to play the game"
bureaucrats really just fucking ruin everything for everyone
>born in 87
mah nigga
we're getting rare around here
96 here
2000s kid masterrace reporting in

magazines
Who is /1990/ patrician here?
You mean 89? Sure.
So black people were always chimping out? This just isn't a recent fad?
This here is my fucking jam.
>Still posting on Sup Forums over the age of 20
nah
it wasn't a race thing
we here in LA love to riot over absolutely fucking anything
ESPECIALLY when it comes to the lakers
You haven't learned yet, right?
>he didn't print out walkthroughs using school computers
Nope. 90s seem yo be the overrated generation ever.
"Muh muh but the music espically the hip hop rap"
"awesome vibes and culture dude"
I don't give a shit. The games look pretty lame back then compared to sixth generation and up. 90s is just filled 2d jrpgs and insanly unfairly difficult corridor platformers and beatum ups. Good thing i was born in the right generation. I get to enjoy the glorius remake like final fantasy vii.
I'm 24. I've been in this shithole for 8 years. There's no exit, we're all trapped here until we die.
>see waifu in pic
>this actually upset me a little
>brand new AAA console game used to cost $50 and packed with content that would last you months
>now indie games with no content are $60 digital only with an extra $60 of dlc
>ChittyChittyBangBang
>Those fake cheats that sound like complete bullshit because they are so specific and complicated
>Use one that worked well
>Fall for the other ones because that one was legit
>Make myself look like a jackass
but user, I graduated highschool in '85
I succeed by not giving a single fuck. Unlike dickweeds like you, I have other hobbies than vidya and can play old games no problem.
As a matter of fact, there are enough games I have never played from previous gens to keep me busy for the rest of my life.
I wonder how shitposters like you go on repeating the same cheap banter again and again without offing yourselves.
...
>he graduated high school in 85 but couldn't afford a printer in 2004
