Has anyone else went from a 3DS XL to a regular New 3DS?

Has anyone else went from a 3DS XL to a regular New 3DS?

Those faceplates look awesome but I dont know if the smaller screens is gonna bother me too much

Nah, I like the bigger screen and I don't look at the back of the thing 95% of the time that I use it, so faceplates don't matter to me at all.

I got a Sandard N3DS and I like it better than the original XL
It's big enuf

As someone with both a N3DS and a N3DS XL, it is less an issue of screen size and more an issue of system size. Both of them are too small for comfort during extended periods of play, but it takes longer to feel the discomfort with the XL.

That said, the resolution of the screens on both are the same, so you do get a noticeable (albeit slightly) better picture on the smaller screen, because of pixel density.

I did exactly that, specifically because of the new faceplates.

It's similar enough to be entirely up to personal preference, but I, personally, grew accustomed to the way the XL's screen "wrapped around" my field of vision in ways the smaller screen simply couldn't. Again, entirely up to personal preference, but while playing stuff like Xenoblade, even though the ammount of stuff on screen was exactly the same, it felt "cluttered" on the smaller screen somehow.
I traded it for an XL and don't miss the faceplates as much as I thought I would

can't you not get the regular n3DS outside of nipland?

I would love to, but Nintendo is so fucking backwards that they only release it in special editions which they produce the tiniest fucking amount of for the entire United States, and says fuck everyone who doesn't want an XL or to shell out $300 to scalpers if they miss the minuscule pre order window

You can get it just standard in Yuroland, and there's still a bunch of bundles in Burger

I won't "downgrade" because my launch N3DSXL has a top IPS screen. Chances of getting IPS on a regular model are null as far as I know.

The screen on the New 3DS XL must look fucking awful. Going from a regular old 3DS to a New 3DS was jarring as fuck; the low res screen looks objectively terrible just with the small size boost. It was also disappointing how toy-like the new model looks compared to the original.

Kinda had an insta-regret moment but the super stable 3D makes it all worthwhile in the end.

Idc about faceplates, I always go for the bigger screen one

is the N3DS regular out in the United States? Can all versions be hacked?

Might grab a non-XL N3DS and leave it in the box for 万一 (i.e. when it goes out of production and my current system dies)

I'm a man of 188cm height and fairly large hands
I'm pretty sure the only reason my n3DS is gathering dust is because of how shittily small the screen is and how tired I get from holding it.

I HAD to buy a grip for it otherwise I can't play longer than an hour.

Could be a factory dud. Wouldn't you want to spark it up at least once?

it's actually an upgrade. The 3ds screen resolution is shit, when you have a bigger screen the image is stretched and looks even more ass than it does on a non XL 3ds.

The normal 3ds is better in regards of image quality.

regular n3ds for those snes controller buttons.

Just to specify as I forgot to write it, I am talking exclusively about the n3ds and n3ds xl in my post, I forgot the N.

I don't like the normal one, screen is too tiny. Don't care about the res if it's harder for me to see it.

That.
Higher image quality means little when you are looking at a tiny tiny screen from half a meter+.

I did.
I felt the 3DS XL was way too large, but the regular 3DS was too small, plus it had that shitty glossy fingerprint magnet finish and a dim screen. To me, the New 3DS feels like an improvement in every way. Everything is just right.
