Except that this is Ape Escape 2 that came out on ps4 so there's no need to play the original.

Weirdly enough, I started playing this today also, though on my Ps2. Having a blast, game plays great with lots of improvements over the first. Such a comfy series.

The sequels have worse level design, annoying characters, and a god awful sky flyer.

First time playing the sequel, absolutely loved the first one as a kid. I'm not a huge fan of the UK voiceovers and the name changes from the first game (think the MC is supposed to be Spike?) I've only played up to the first boss so far, and it is still fun so far. I feel like they made the hula hoop harder to control though, might be to balance it? I know it was broken af in the first game if you got good with it. I like the gacha thing to dump your money into, but the hub isn't as interesting as the first game. Overall i'm having fun with it. Hope it picks up though.

I played the football game on Ape Escape 2 more than the actual game. My team was great and I loved smashing the ball into anyone who got in my way. Being able to knock your opponent out with a football should be in more games.

Kinda wish it'd get a port with proper twin stick support, but it's a great remake otherwise. Works a lot better than it should.

For what they had to work with control wise they managed pretty well. Still can't beat dual analog controls but its not terrible.

The game seem to look really nice on a higher resolution, maybe emulating is a good excuse to play it again.
