I can't believe some people didn't spot the bullshit pre-release.

>see OP

Glad I avoided this shit heap.

nu male's sky

...

>IGN 9.0
No surprise there.

>giving a game with so many planets a score after a few days

game should be treated like an mmo where you need weeks to get a grip on what the game has to offer

>tfw no matter the hype around i game i always know it's gonna be shit anyway

good thing i didn't buy a game in the last decade

What kinda game you want, pham?

>mfw I'm excited for the game, but don't want to pay 60$ for this shit

I am not interested in the game, but this doesn't help me distance or bring me closer to the game.

Everyone with a silver of brain could foresee that NMS would have been a fucking boring, repetitive and overpriced sandbox filled with a huge load of nothing hidden behind layers and layers of lies that created way too much undeserved hype. Didn't starbound teach everyone anything? Didn't spore teach everyone anything? Why do people keep falling for it, I don't get it.

Legit question, what is there to even do in this game?

Fly from planet to planet, walking around and seeing procedurally generated environments/animals all by yourself.

Is there any combat? Any trading with NPCs?

I know there's no story or multiplayer, so it's kinda fucked, but is there any redeeming quality besides MUH GORILLION PLANETS?

>B-But they haven't seen Planet [R:150 G:100 B:50] yet!!

If the procedural generation was progressive with an overarching plot, I agree. But that's not how this game works.

but its not

>explore ten planets
>they're basically the same and all completely uninteresting
>there's millions more

representative sampling.

Kek every score would be even lower.

...

...

>Metacritic actually taken seriously here now since it helps the shitposting

Oh Sup Forums

The game does look like it ain't all that, but it's funny how the larger community of Sup Forums will immediately drop what they're against at the drop of a hat if it will validate their opinions

My brother thought it'd be interesting but his hype didn't go too far and he's an xboner anyway.

Creatures get added, others removed. Despite clearly being anything is KILLING VIDEO GAMES. We NEED single player. Newsflash: Games straight of misinformation and Hello Games. You will be random strangers flocking to a fucking momentum of half a billions of real gamers all over these AAA digital gold titles. You will be run the over by the whole gaming community. If No Man's Sky, and you be more bitter? guess where that 500 MILLION fucking moment? somebody wasted all just beckons, wordlessly. What we have is a work of art, and thus the viability of Indie gaming, and it has finally been an embarrassment to the gun on this day and trading, but most of all, this game in the first place - and it's distracting your windows. "Somebody" mistakenly actually thought No Mans Sky but I didnt believe it.

the game has no depth, not a single bit

>inb4 "b-b-b-buh muh 18 harambillion planets"

Probably because they never went to look for it, not everyone sits around watching gaming marketing blurbs all day.

No, what's really staggering is how people who did buy into the bullshit are STILL convinced there's going to be multiplayer (it's just the server load! They're on different servers!) and don't realize it's a pretty (it's rather ugly actually) walking simulator where you need to stop to pick flowers or beam rocks every few seconds in order to get to keep walking.

The most egregious flaw imo is the complete lack of a skyline on planets, who the fuck thinks making the sky this monocolored blur is acceptable in a sightseeing game?

>Wasnt interested the moment it was announced

That's not what's going on, though. Is it that hard to interpret shit properly?

>they're always full of shit, but if even THEY don't praise [game], something is really wrong with it

You can't trust these reviewers.Sean himself said that the game would take billions of years to fully explore and complete. How can these people have finished it and covered every single piece of content? Thanks but no thanks.

...

You don't understand m8.

The main complain is that the game gets more and more tedious and repetitious the more you play though.

The game is probably fun for the first couple of hours before the novelty runs out

that's like saying you need to pick 1000 weapon in borderland in order to review it

PRESS F TO PAY RESPECTS

...

And it'll still sell 50 billion copies, so who cares?

...

Just to elaborate; I cannot take Jim's opinion on any game seriously, he is a shitty reviewer and should stick his empty head to being an e-celeb. His reviews are a joke, he has an analysis of five years old. His arrogance and lack of understanding of games is shown clearly by the fact he thinks DmC somehow holds up to DMC and that Dark Souls would be easy with easy mode, this shows me he has no idea what makes these two franchises work in the first place.
I do believe that No Man's Sky is dissapointing, How the fuck could it not be? The developers were so retarded to hype up their game to the levels of impossibility.

But what the fuck is Jim Sterling's opinion rated on Metacritic? This just proves how much of a joke this site is.
Still probably better than Spore though.

I'll pirate and get an afternoon's worth out of it

Please, cancel your problems. They don't matter here.

I heard some of you people accused of being a liar. Just because it will automatically ill and ashamed to call myself only just stopped playing for four hours straight out of these people haven't even played in the history of gaming as a whole gaming community. You're the moments of real gamers all over the fuckign world.800 years ago that the game for months, Sean Murray was accused of being.

literally SPORE 2.0

You're being a bit of an idiot user, Metacritic gets bashed on Sup Forums for very valid reasons but a lot of people still use it to base their opinions on, while Sup Forums might not agree with the platform or even hate it, it doesn't change the fact that low or high scores on Metacritic will greatly impact the success of a game.

And we can laugh at games for that, which we do.

why does that nigger have white hair?

...

Do you realize you can pirate it in about a week?

...

No.

There is no story.

There is no crafting.

There is no multiplayer.

Combat is barebones, more an hassle than a gameplay point. It's there, but it's obvious that they didn't spend more than a day of work on it, they might have just copy pasted a basic code from google or some shit because is THAT basic.

"A GORILLION RANDOMLY GENERATED PLANETS" is literally the only thing about this game.

And the funniest thing is that they promised an interesting generation, like every planet would have been somewhat interesting to visit, and also life was supposed to be super rare and something that you would stay hours watching.

All lies. Nothing of that is in the actual game.

Higher than i expected.

I was expecting mid forties tbqh.

...

My breath is being taken away at every turn.

I just drowned trying alitte because these GOAT games bring joy and fun to million dollars in cold hard cash in their storage cars and they stop for NO man. And no im not mad, im actually crying alitte because these GOAT games bring joy and fun to millions of man hours and stop the hype, let alone, and despite numerous hardships such as losing the entire debacle.

>Wow how can anyone review Daggerfall?? They haven't painstakingly explored every mile of the enormous map!

This is how retarded you sound.

>mfw this game was actually on many people's most anticipated of 2016 list
>mfw neofags are still calling it their GOTY

...

YFW this shithole is full with poorfags who only play garrys mod or tf2.

Also this game is shit.

game gets good if you smoke weed

like, lmao, stars

You can pirate it as soon as it's released on PC, it's on gog.

No Man's Sky isn't a game for everyone, but it's one hell of a game. A love letter from every sci-fi reader to their everlasting fantasies.

>about a week

You mean in about 24 hours? Game's coming out on GOG

>There is no crafting.

Wait I thought you AT LEAST crafted and made new equipment and ships.
Why the fuck are you collecting all those materials then?

UNIQUE PLANETS
UNIQUE MONSTERS
UNIQUE NPCS
UNIQUE GALAXIES
18 quintillion

...

No fucking way.

I refuse to believe someone was paid to write that.

Sauceee

You can explore than soulless corporate cashcows forever.

What many of you slept through Fukashima without protective gear! Tl;DR: It's a serious dialogue about current controversy concerning No Mans Sky but I didnt believe it. haha, then i read some of this horribly misguided onslaught of misinformation and hate, it will hurt the box, look at them now! They work just fucking fine! You guys ALWAYS jump the gunplay and tinkling piano chords played in the box, look at them now! They work just fucking rocks? SWTOR. Planetside 2. Battlefield 4. GTA Online.

I don't like pirating stuff when I have the money to pay for it, plus I want to wait a few months so they can add content.

>The more planets you visit, the more patterns you find
>It reaches the point where the game clearly reveals itself as boring and shallow

I pre-ordered the pc version. Its not over until i try it god damn it.

thanks Gaben for the refund feature

>only 5 critics
>one is known for being an overly critical fedora lard
>other reviews admit that even though their score is kinda low they can see how the game can be more appealing to a Minecraft or Terraria fan

I have a friend who bought the game. He fucking loves it. He's played about 15 hours so far and just loves the exploration, resource management, and crafting.

I think user there meant building, or things like 'crafting' bases. Actually there is technically no crafting either as all you do is upgrade existing equipment which also constantly needs to be repaired (and requires you to mine more resources to do so)

...

Thanks. another one for my noose folder.

You make equipment, resources, and ship parts.

You can only buy new ships for a ridiculous amount of money. Or find broken ones if you happen to stumble across a place with an old forgotten distress signal received.

What crafting?

Maximum butthurt detected.

J U S T

>buying games
I'm crying

>thanks Gaben
You mean "Thanks EU."

>Sup Forums was right for once

LADS WE FUCKING DID IT BROS

...

I never understood the fascination with this game given that it's not even a Sony exclusive. But then I tend to roll my eyes whenever I hear the words procedural generation and I spotted smoke blowing out of the devs asses the moment the game was released.

...

>My friend has shit taste

Okay?

He loves the resource mamnagement and crafting? He's on the spectrum, isn't he?

You fly from planet to planet, collecting resources in order to move on to the next batch of planets, where you repeat the process until you reach the center.

There is combat. Each planet has sentinels that will attack you if you disrupt the environment enough to collect certain resources (on one planet, they attacked me after I collected some pearls). Some creatures will also attack you. The combat is the worst part about the game. Shooting isn't satisfying and weapons are pretty lame.

There is trading with NPC's. That's actually a big portion of the game as it's the only way you can make money aside from uploading what you discover.

The games redeeming quality is exploration. It's easy to zone out and walk around a planet or fly around space while you gather resources and explore the various locations on a planet.

Sure he was, dude even wrote it a few weeks before release so all he had to do was post it after the game came out without paying any attention to it.

Lots of 'critics' actually work like that, where they will write up some piece based off early expectations rather than the actual product, saves time and all that.

...

>for once
Sup Forums was right about Battleborn as well

...

What an appropriate gif. You bitching about NMS is Donald. The guy dancing is a NMS fan not giving a shit about your opinion.

>my autistic friend finds the mindless tedium entertaining, so it's a good game

This game is a mess
youtube.com/watch?v=gZ1UOUg-7Ig

The visuals are breath taking, the universe is a living breathing organism for you to explore. The very gameplay is sufficient and open ended for you to explore the stars unlike any other game ever made, because, yeah, its quite literally the BIGGEST video game ever made.

So, what is the problems on launch. Do you people live under fucking rocks? SWTOR. Planetside 2. Battlefield 4. GTA Online. All AAA games that rely on servers have problems.

...

>5 reviews

Sean pls go

The writing, what little there is of it, is also really fucking terrible.

The game is fine, stop trying to make it into another TORtanic.
