Very. I was a huge Biodrone the day before the game released. Haven't played any of their games since, the taste is still too strong.

Andromeda won't be able to fix it. They fucked up too hard. They really should just drop the franchise.

Yes. It and Inquisition prove BioWare have no clue what they're doing.

I was, but I've made peace with it by doing Destroy and just pretending the Catalyst was lying about it killing EDI and the geth.

Yeah, I fucking am.

I was slightly disappointed with ME2 already, that was just the last straw.

Anyone have that image of the Sup Forums poster who rambles on about how he'll never not be pissed, even after the the real world universe dies of heat death and he's in the afterlife, he'll still be pissed?

Also this
files.secureserver.net/0sAs5D1D50UU26

That was absolutely retarded.

>spend hours on fixing the Quarian-Geth relations in order to get help from them to destroy the reapers
>help EDI learn what it means to be human, bond with her as Joker falls for her
>ultimately it doesn't matter because you did what you set out to do in the first place

I will always be fucking mad

I fucking made Marauder Shields my Microsoft account avatar so every time I turn on my computer, I will remember just how fucking awful this shit was.

Yes. I will still be angry. I will only stop being mad when entropy destroys this universe and the another singularity Big Bang's the next universe into existence, even then, though, will my anger still simmer in the background radiation, cursing the name: "Casey Hudson".

Yes

No because I wasn't retarded enough to care in the first place. I pirated ME1 and quit halfway through because it was fucking boring. Anyone who was actually excited about ME3 is a retard who deserved to be disappointed.

I will never stop being mad, user.

> the entire series is about trying to kill the giant planet eating robots
> wah muh choices

No I'm not

You cared enough to post in this thread

*galaxy eating robots

ME1 was the worst of the three, user.

ME2 and 3 are practically different games. The only shitty part about 3 is the final two minutes.

I was, now I just don't give a shit. The series is dead to me.

It also had no sidequests, you dip. It might as well have just been mission based.

I would also like to /r/ this image

>The only shitty part about 3 is the final two minutes.
And the party members
And the lack of exploration
And the citadel being reduced to 4 corridors
And """"heat sinks""""
And that faggot tapping his dick on a keyboard every 3 minutes
And the sidequests
And talis "face"
And everything involving war assets
And the sprites, textures, and environments

I just don't care about it anymore. The game ends at the beam, everyone dies. It's an extinction event, one of the great filters. The game should never have been about beating the reapers or a compromise, it should have been a galactic Lovecraftian greek tragedy about how things much larger than you happen. You are insignificant, no matter how much you hope.

The reapers were somewhere between a II and a III on the Kardashev scale.

With borrowed fumbling technology the "good guys", all the sentient races of the milkyway, who were BEHIND those from the previous cycle - were between a I and a II on the scale. The scale increases logrithmically. The logic was shit. Everyone wiped.

I could care less about Andromeda. I'll happily pirate it to see how it's just an attempted rehash at the "magic".

Without the RPG elements you may as well play Gears. It's a better shooter

That's one of the reasons I preferred the added "refusal" choice. It was supposed to be Biowares fuck you to critics, but it ended up being the most logical and somewhat touching outcome (4me)

RPG elements != role playing

It's not D&D

STEVE!

I'm okay!

Was there ever an explanation for what happened to the "dark energy" subplot? ME2 was clearly building it up to be a significant part of ME3's story and it just disappeared, never to be mentioned again.

Sup Forums is so stupid

Nah, I didn't really care anymore after 2.

>ITT: triggered underage reddit cucks
Oh, you mad kiddos?

>the lack of exploration
Back to Nu Males's Sky

...

No direct confirmation but everyone assumes that nuBioware axed this plot trajectory since casuals wouldnt be able to comprehend dark energy

Reasonably mad. This (and the continued presence of retarded Bioware devs on social media platforms) convinced me Bioware is dead and I haven't touched one of their games since.

Luckily I pirated ME3, a friend of mine bought the collectors edition and he's still furious.

Mass Effect's story always had its problems but was enjoyable none the less, and had some endearing characters to boot. ME3's ending threw everything out the window for some '2deep' bullshit that contradicted a plethora of things from the previous games, and couldn't even be bothered to make up some hand-waving nonsense as to explain why. The ending was so god awful that the company was forced to tweak it in free DLC to curb the immense backlash it received (something I don't believe has ever happened before or since in gaming) and fans still hated it so much they made their own ending mod which went on to become the most downloaded file for the game. Hell, they fucked up so bad the sequel has to take place in another galaxy entirely just to avoid all the bullshit the last five mins of the game made.

Am I still mad? No. Just incredibly disappointed. It was a fun universe they created, but Bioware thoroughly managed to kill any excitement I had for the series.

This is pretty much the ultimate picture for this thread

It's true though. With each game the galaxy shrank until it because 4 hallways and some recycled multiplayer maps

I'm more pissed off about Colin Moriarty calling everyone who was dissapointed by the ending entitled. I t was the moment that I realised the industry is fucked.

i agree with most and also the dialogue was shallow as fuck

>And the lack of exploration

there is a problem with this because in me3 shit's going down. there's no time to dance anymore, the reapers are there fucking shit up

it wouldn't make sense to go out exploring while everyone is dying

No because I hated me2 so much that I never even played 3. I like to pretend the series ended with the original.

Karpyshyn departed from the Mass Effect team shortly before the conclusion of Mass Effect 2 and was replaced by Mass Effect 3 lead writer Mac Walters.

Despite describing the plot thread as "something that wasn't super fleshed out", Karpyshyn was still able to give gaming radio show VGS a detailed summary of how the storyline might have developed.

"Dark Energy was something that only organics could access because of various techno-science magic reasons we hadn't decided on yet. Maybe using this Dark Energy was having a ripple effect on the space-time continuum.

"Maybe the Reapers kept wiping out organic life because organics keep evolving to the state where they would use biotics and dark energy and that caused an entropic effect that would hasten the end of the universe. Being immortal beings, that's something they wouldn't want to see.

"Then we thought, let's take it to the next level. Maybe the Reapers are looking at a way to stop this. Maybe there's an inevitable descent into the opposite of the Big Bang (the Big Crunch) and the Reapers realise that the only way they can stop it is by using biotics, but since they can't use biotics they have to keep rebuilding society - as they try and find the perfect group to use biotics for this purpose. The asari were close but they weren't quite right, the Protheans were close as well.

"Again it's very vague and not fleshed out, it was something we considered but we ended up going in a different direction."

>tali's face

FUCK YOU I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THAT SO FUCKING MAD

A FUCKING STOCK PHOTO

A FUCKING PHOTSHOPPED STOCK PHOTO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I post this every me3 thread

Yes I care about making fun of a game I don't like when I'm bored at work. That is correct.

I believe you but I doubt I'd like them either. They're sequels so I assume they have some of the same characters, and one of the worst things about ME1 is that all the characters were bricks. The gameplay footage I've seen of 2 and 3 shows me that the gameplay is shallow too. So I don't see what would be appealing about them. But maybe you're right I don't know.

Always.

lol admitting the indoctrination theory would have fixed it, basically the perfect retcon

That sounds way fucking better than what they shit out now

This. This is the reason that Casey Hudson (and his buttbuddy Mac Walters) will always be infinitely worse than anyone else ever to grave gaming.

Fuck all you Todd Howard shitters out there, this guy is truly the vidya antichrist.

I was seriously pissed off by the ending for like a week after I finished the game.

All I know is that Andromed is probably going to be different, because most people who worked on ME3 have quit. Bioware now is mostly new recruits. Which is also alarming, because they are yet to release any gameplay footage, and there are lots of vacancies on gamedev job sites for senior positions in Bioware.

>it wouldn't make sense to go out exploring while everyone is dying
Yes it would because you should be searching for allies, weapons, and resources. You should be going planet to planet busting mini-reapers like on Tuchanka to try and slow their advance long enough to strategize.

There was always room to expand on what the first ME game attempted. Bioware is just shit at sequels

Mad? No.
Just disappointed

>Bioware

Just burry it already.

...

I remember always thinking the plot was heading this way. The Haemstrom mission in 2 was literally all about it, the Sun was dimming due to dark energy failure.

Holy shit, I don't remember seeing that. Is that pic real?

My jimmies are rustled just looking at it

...

>EA

> the entire series is about trying to kill the giant planet eating robots

no, it was always about choices, I would have joined with the reapers somehow, just to see how it goes
so when I got the blue end and didn't know the others, I was pretty satisfied

Yes, that's what people saw on launch day and it took them until the director's cut or whatever it's called to remove that.

>burry

*rolls eyes*
ugh, could you just, like..........NOT?? Bioware have done more for inclusivity in videogames then nearly every other studio put together only a few bigoted homophobes and entitled whiny manchildren had a problem with their work.

>get shat on as a fan of the series
>credits roll
>get told to buy more of their shit immediately after

excuse me

as an adult-baby i prefer you not use manchild as an insult. it's a very serious disability and yes, my mommy and i are on welfare for it

noice

Man fuck you guys. Inquisition is fucking good. It has so many genuinely interesting quests, and answers so many of the questions I wanted answered. You can bang the "villain". It's fucking awesome.

I get that you want to hate bioware forever because ME3 IS SO FUCKING AWFUL- Which it is, and I am also mad. But if Andromeda is like Inquisition, I'll be happy.

Also WHY THE FUCK IS THE SHIP CALLED THE TEMPEST? I THOUGHT SHIPS WERE NAMED AFTER HUMAN BATTLES?

The developers gave the game a story that crippled core gameplay, that's a design flaw

So how are they going to avoid picking a canon ending, Sup Forums? Will they just retcon it again, or will they set Andromeda so far into the future that the Reaper War is almost entirely irrelevant like the Rachni Wars?

Only the frigates are named after human (sieges specifically I think) battles.

Imagine if you could romance Saren or Illusive Man. That's basically Solas in DAI, you're right.

As far as we know, the story is about a colony ship that leaves before the end of ME3 to a different galaxy. So whatever happened at the end of ME3 is irrelevant to Andromeda.

They basically did. And it was very disingenuous.

I was, but who cares. I still prefer ME2, but 3 had better gameplay, more powers and combinations, it looked and ran better than the other 2, it got rid of the shit annoying hacking and mining mini games, the convoluted weapons and armour upgrades and it had little details like squamates moving around the ship between missions that made the game feel more alive. Like remember Grunt just standing there in front of his tank the whole game?

Anyway

The ending sucked aids riddled anus, yes. The game still overused it's assets so much that you'll see the same animations over and over. Side quests were bad, I mean the ones where you just listen to other people's conversations like a weirdo. Kai Leng was lame. James was meh but his commentary in some missions was funny. Kaidan/Ashley were still bland. Javik was cool but his mission was a 45 minutes DLC, which was fucking shit. Leviathan and Omega were interesting, and Citadel was pure fan service.

I was pretty mad, but I still think it was a good series. Now that Walters is gone and they have a fresh start, I'm looking foward to Andromeda.

I will always be mad, and no autist from /meg/ will convince me otherwise.

Rot in hell bioware

only good part of the game was the music and sound direction.1

I meant Hudson, not Walters. Brain fart

>fucking loved ME2
>game tells me that my choices will matter come ME3
>get really hyped
>Bioware keeps talking about how proud they are of the story they've made and how players can "tailor it to their experience" or whatever
>get beyond hyped
>this happens

I would have just shrugged it off as a crappy ending to a great game if they hadn't built my expectations up so much

Pretty sure Mac Walters is the one in charge now

btw whites can't buy the game they should go extinct

t. gameplay designer

Can't burry the curry

When? I didn't replay but I thought the extra DLC ending just added some extra slides and gave you the option to not do anything, was there any other DLC that admitted it or devlogs for andromeda?

No. I never was.

I know, I confused them both. Which makes me a little hopeful, since Walters wrote the Tuchanka and Rannoch arcs in 3, which I think most people think are the best ones.

not entirely. i stopped playing after 2 after seeing where the series was heading before 3 came out. it stings a whole lot less than it would if i had stuck it out.

>all this hype
>all this letdown

whatever happened to finishing a game, completely, then marketing it?

why do we allow developers to promise the sky and the moon and deliver dogshit again and again?

>"Dark Energy was something that only organics could access because of various techno-science magic reasons we hadn't decided on yet. Maybe using this Dark Energy was having a ripple effect on the space-time continuum.
>"Maybe the Reapers kept wiping out organic life because organics keep evolving to the state where they would use biotics and dark energy and that caused an entropic effect that would hasten the end of the universe. Being immortal beings, that's something they wouldn't want to see.
And this would perfectly link into why the game is called Mass Effect.

The meaning of 'Mass Effect' in medical science, is a growing tumor. Organics were the tumor that accelerated the death of the universe, by using biotics and dark energy technologies.

BAM, GOTY.

>But if Andromeda is like Inquisition, I'll be happy.
>Inquisition

Jesus Christ.

God I just remember my imagination running wild as to how my choices in ME1 and 2 could effect the ending of 3.

When I found out about the ending (I rarely pick up games day 1) I was fucking livid

lol nerd who cares about your stupid video game

buy more DLC though, DLC is cool

Blue ending ftw but

In general, the first toy seems very interesting. But in the future quickly tired of the lack of diversity. I can not advise to play it, but the taste and color of comrades there. Who will explain why.
1. First and foremost, probably minus in the game - the standard plot. To describe it, I will not, for those who are interested - Will play will understand what I mean. The storyline does not cling, do not have enough of its disclosure and understandable narrative scheme, which is why the game is lost meaning and the essence of our actions.
2. Graphics. Yes, I do not argue, in the gaming industry to sin zhalvatsya graphics in a computer game, but it's just a nightmare. Guys, even in Serios Sam schedule was better, seriously.
3. The same type of combat system. Oh, this is generally a separate topic. Where have you seen a blunt poking the mouse button? Your gerogy will produce the same attack, no matter where your opponent to what he outfit, its growth, and so on.
4. Gameplay. In general, what can be said about the gameplay ... He is not. And it did not exist. Maps are based on the same scheme, the world is boring and monotonous.
And finally, 5. Artificial Intelligence. Guys, local AI is so stupid that, I'm sorry of course, children 4 years of age are smarter than NPC here.

So, what I say Mogo. Ten criteria.
1. Theme. -
2. Gameplay. -
3. Artificial Intelligence. -
4. World. -
5. Graphics. -
6. Musical arrangement (the only thing that I somehow liked it). +
7. Interest. -
8. playability. -
9. To kill time. +
10. Spend money on something worthwhile. -
Total 2/10

That was actually pretty good. If they alluded to that since the first game that is, not introducing a whole new concept 10 minutes before the end.

you mean like how the matrix was dumbed down? how the matrix was designed around human brains being used for processing power instead of as inefficient as fuck batteries but the studio felt that the audience wouldn't understand.

RAAAHAHHAHHGHGHGHHGHGHGGHAHAHHSALSKL:KLASFKLDFJKLJKLDKLfjkl;skfajkl;jkafjkdfkl;asdkjk;df;jklasdjklfjkl;asfjklfjklasd

THE FUCKING RAGE!!!
DEAR FUCKING GOD THE FUCKING RAGE!!!!

RIP THEIR GUTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine me. I had no internet for 6 months before ME3 came out, so I went into the game, completely fucking blind, without knowing the massive controversy about it.

So I pirated, and started playing
When I finished playing it, I can safely say that I'm not the same person as I was before, as I noticed I didn't enjoy playing games as much as I used to.

There were hints about dark energy in the first 2 games

Frigates are named after battles, cruisers are named after cities, dreadnoughts are named after mountains, and carriers are named after famous people.

'Tempest' doesn't fit any of those categories, but it might not actually be an Alliance ship so it can be named whatever the fuck they want it to be called. The real crime here is that the Tempest is just the fucking Normandy again but flat.

They were alluding to both ideas since the very beginning and if you didn't notice it's because you weren't invested in it from the get go

The only thing that got introduced 10 minutes before the end is your newfaggotry

and the ending choices could be you deciding to destroy the reapers and figure out how not to rip apart the universe in the future or you let the reapers reap and begin the process over again.

Say what you will about the ending, the worst thing about ME3 was their attempt to make another Saren-tier villain with that asian Paul Dano samurai guy.

>gaming radio show VGS a detailed summary of how the storyline might have developed.
link please I'm on my slow as phone

Sup Forums is always mad. i guess they´re trying to project their insecurities about still being virgins so they hate on everything they see and know.,

I completely forgot about him and now you reminded me of him again
