Don't play Starbound. Was burned by the early access and found myself enjoying Terraria more. Sorry if that triggers you, OP, but maybe they shouldn't have hyped it up so much from the beginning and actually focused on creating a balanced and enjoyable game.

Fact: The combat is still after all the patches utter shit

Fact: The crafting system is far too heavily depending on item replication using pixels rather than using proper components

Fact: The main menu theme is really nice

I beat the game after a week

My friend and I had fun by skipping all dialogue and cutscenes and formulating our own story based on what we saw happening

We concluded that the guy you fight from the fish place area and onwards was the Old Lady's grandson and wanted her dead so he could inherit her monies. Then when we entered the portal we concluded that this was the inside of the old lady and that we were removing a cancerous tumor so that she could live forever, while her grandson was there trying to aggravate it so that she died.

We never bothered learning what the story was about, how close were we?

the only thing i used for head cosmetics is the confederate flower or whatever thing that you get from the intro mission, recently i've been using starbounder.org/Demon_Horn_Wig
but i'm not 100% sold on it, still looking for something better
