Yeah, Wikia (what 99% of video game wikis use) is bloated, ad infested web 3.0 garbage. I would say it's unusable without noscript/umatrix, but they also use scripts just to load fucking images, so those sites are broken no matter what you do.
Regular Wikipedia (as well as other wikimedia projects) work fine though.
