I wanna get a 3DS. Should I get a New 3DS or just the 3DS?

New

Is money an issue? If it is, the normal would be fine.

How much do you want to spend? New is better, obviously.

New, as much as I hate the thing.

>MonHun on a regular 3DS

That's just wrong.

New 3DS is an improvement in every way over the OG 3DS. The only difference is cost.

The New 3DS is great if you actually use the 3D feature, because it tracks your eyes so it doesn't go out of focus. It also has a C-stick, so you can play MonHun without wishing you were dead.

It's faster processor is only really useful for forcing higher clockspeed in games through homebrew, no games really take advantage of the New 3DS' extra power apart from a couple that have better textures, and the single N3DS exclusive game, Xenoblade Chronicles.

I don't mind the money so much, but I'd also rather not spend a massive sum for something that's just a marginal update.

I can either get a 3DS XL for around 160 euro or a normal 3DS with some Zelda game for like 80 euro.

I'm mostly planning to play dungeon crawlers and the like and borrow a lot from the original DS library.

>Buying second hand
Its like you want semen on your hands. Get a new one

In my opinion, it's more than a trivial update.
It's worth the extra.

How reliable is the N3DS C-stick? Can you play MH comfortably with it?

n3ds has snes vc if you care about that

2DS.

It not that good but it does it job.
Do you remember that old laptops had a button in the middle that you could move and worked as a mouse instead of a touchscreen? it's the same shit.

I've seen videos of people replacing it with the PSP nub, so I got the impression that it was shit

As an idiot who bought a normal 3ds, 3ds XL and a N3DS XL, geht the n3ds XL...

i dont know, where you want to play, if you lie or sit, but i enjoyed the 3D eye focus a lot. And Xenoblade is a little bonus...

New if you wanna play monster hunter

It's fine unless you're prone to sweaty palms/fingers.

It's fine but what you wanna do is you get a psp c-stick (has to be the 1000 model) and put it on there yourself.

The thing is like 2 bucks and it's the best change ever.

the slight performance boost is nice, c-stick is great (well, not really, in fact it's terrible, but still better than not having it at all), there are few exclusive games, and few games that SHOULD be exclusive (because the performance on O3DS is abysmal), and the 3D actually working is nice too

So, if money is not really the issue get N3DS, otherwise get either O3DS or if on a really tight budget then 2DS.

>you need new 3ds to play monhun lol!
Fuck you i play monhun on my old 3ds and already reached hr 70 without hassle

new, its straight-out upgrade to the old 3ds(which had terrible battery life and build quality).

The original 3DS has a shitty screen and control deck overall. If you can you should actually go for a 2DS instead, which while being inferior as a portable it at least makes the games look better.

People mistakenly assume you can move it around like a regular analog stick when it's more like the nub on a thinkpad, which leads to them being unable to use it efficiently or causes them to mod it with a PSP nub. Just tilting it isn't gonna make it work correctly, you gotta lightly press down on it with the tip of your thumb and then move it in the direction you want.

Neither it's getting replaced in March.

Just ordered this bad boy together with MH4U. Feels good man.
