Game is dull
The world mad will give you a seizure.

Sup Forums is a underage shitposting subreddit, they don't even know this masterpiece

>le old games are good meme xD
>le nostalgia

Terranigma is probably one of the best games ever made

Wish I still had my old SNES

its the best and the haters are just loser Americans who are mad jelly that they missed out

Too long history to even play
People have jobs, you know.

Did you stop before leaving the underworld or something because the world map becomes normal

The best game on the SNES easily. It's a crime it wasn't released in NA.

my brother owns 2 snes's and still has a physical copy of it as well. terranigma is my very first game i've ever watched/played

I loved the game because my father would always play it together with me.

I really wish I coul play it a last time with him again.

I feel like the run feature didn't need to be there. Also, you pretty much have to play the game on NTSC mode in an emulator or it feels sluggish as hell.

My favorite Snes game. Fantastic story and soundtrack, and also makes great use of some graphics and visual effects. The game really leaves a huge impression on you.

As for things to improve, the magic system could've seen some better use. The secret areas could've also amounted to more than looting stuff in them.

Ark got a fucked up "reward"

the music is amazing, the whole idea of the plot of the world going through reincarnation is very unique and lead to some good moment (like that bit where one of the goat dies and the other goat start eating it and the main hero is like "dude he was your goat friend and now you are eating him?")

if had to say something bad about it is that the difficulty is all out of whack, you deal no damage upon entering a new zone then you raise 2 levels and suddenly everything now dies in 2 hits

all of quintet game are really good
except granstream saga and it's disturbing lack of faces

It really doesn't have the cohesiveness that Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia had. I can play either of those games from start to finish in a heartbeat, but Terranigma just doesn't keep me invested past the first few areas on Earth. It just feels like a chore to play.

Dislike: There was one area that had enemies that made the framerate shit itself. That level was not very fun
Like: everything else

I prefer Illusion of Gaia though

Are there any other games that are similar to the Soul Blazer series?

dark cloud

Easily the best SNES game imo, better than Chrono Trigger, FF etc. Also in my top 5 best games of all time. The only game whose story I love close to Terranigma is Breath of Fire 2, but even that is not as good and unique overall.

Doesn't /vr/ talk about this game? I don't really go there so I don't know.

I went a long time without saving, then the power flashed in my house lost all my progress and haven't picked it up since. Ruined muh game.

Can always play Actraiser if you haven't yet. At least the first game.

It's a fantastic game, but everyone claiming it's the best SNES game hasn't played Live-a-Live.

>LAL
>best SNES game
>literally just a bunch of sidequests and minigames

Kill yourself, my man.

never heard of it tbqh

you'd be surprised, I remember I made a thread about it like a year ago and I believe it almost reached the bump limit. Like a week or two later, I saw an user post a thread about 16bit era RPGs and mentioned my thread.

It was nice to see it actually get appreciated.

>Granstream Saga
oh man I tried playing this a while back, it wasn't event he faces that turned me off, the game just felt kind of clunky and unpolished.

The game was fairly forgettable despite being so well made. It's just not that exciting.

I liked the idea of the battle system. But there was literally no real point to fighting random battles.

>forgettable
the story and setting alone made it extremely memorable, at least for me and many others. The gameplay was mostly fine too, especially for an rpg of the 16-bit era.

oh yea i remember those 2 threads, those were 2 nice threads. you done good that day
