Why would you take a picture of the single worst combined (Lost Izalith/Demon Ruins) area in all of video games?

A face actually forms in the lava at the spots where other players die in it instead of a bloodstain, you can spot a few of them in that picture near the solid rock where people presumably ran off.

The Lost Izalith is so bad even the dev admitted they just threw it in because they needed to pad out the game. But it's nice how the dragon asses represent how the area is unfinished. At least they had the decency to add those in as a "hidden" message.

I just finished the Lost Izalith and have 3 more Lord Souls to collect. Have I got the worst one out of the way? Because Lost Izalith was pretty gay and unfun.

Yeah, you're past the worst of it. Tomb of the Giants is significantly less shit if you have a sunlight maggot from Izalith. Duke's Archives is pretty fun apart from the bosses. New Londo is cool and spoopy.

Oh fuck off. Dragon ass was meant to be a one-time encounter, it's the bottom half of the dead dragon in Valley of Drakes. They just reused it a billion times because they couldn't find a good place for that encounter and they needed a large enemy for the open lava areas.

Darkroot Garden, I've had way too much fun there. Its not that interesting alone, but online the area design is so perfect for what actually happens there I can only imagine its a fluke.

Dragon Aerie, had the best aesthetic and is one of the only areas in that game that actually feels unique

Cainhurst Castle, but I've only done one playthrough of BB and haven't tried the DLC, so its not a very solid preference

Grand Archives, nice exploration, thematic enemies for the most part, plenty of verticality. Its not a strong preference though, DaS3's areas didn't really leave much of an impression on me for the most part.

DaS1 > DeS >= DaS3 > DaS2
Play the first one if you haven't, the 4 directional rolling might take a while to get used to but the movement and weapon animations are tighter than in any of the other games once you've got the hang of it. The world design is unparalleled and it has some of the best bosses and locations in the series, but also some of the worst.
3 is worth playing once you've gotten enough out of 1 that you just want something new, but it never manages to reach the same heights.
DeS is very worth it if you have the opportunity, the different way the levels and world are set up is really interesting and it has my favorite tone of all the games, but it obviously lacking some refinements from DaS. Bosses tend to be less mechanically difficult and more about finding the right way to handle the boss, which is interesting in its own way. The more linear layout lets them have the best overall level design in the series.

BB is cool too, but more different than it might seem.
