SH2 might be the only OST I can listen to from start to finish for mere pleasure. The ambient and trip-hop stuff is so comfy and Theme of Laura isn't even the best guitar song either. That's Promise.

SH3's soundtrack is phenomenal too, the problem with later Yamaoka soundtracks for SH4, Homecoming, etc was that they focused way too hard on the vocals/guitar stuff and it all started to blend together. The first three games all had a different style OST.
SH1 was barely even music, it was mostly just harsh, terrifying machinery sounds and clanging with some very pretty songs mixed in. SH2 had a few great songs with a heavy focus on the guitar, which gave a great contrast to the rest of the ambient, spooky but also pretty trip-hop/ambient sounding songs. SH3's is really interesting, it threw vocals into the mix and had a really punky industrial vibe.

Oh yes I love SH3, and really all of Yamaoka's Silent Hill work. I just that OST to be kind of bloated with tracks I'd rather skip and I hate the vocals on Hometown for some reason. McGlynn has the voice of a goddess though. She was a perfect fit.
