2. no, not 3 you fucking baby, I know 3 was your first halo game but it's garbage and casualized to the extreme compared to 2.
>bungie decided the average american brain was unable to comprehend that some aliens are friendly and some are enemy, so elites and friendly hunters are 99% absent from the campaign
>speaking of missing shit, where are the sentinel flying tanks?
>shortest
>grafix were outdated even before the game came out
>no breaking benjamin in the OST

3 was best, 5 was worst

It's a pretty close, between 2 & 3, but probably 2. Allied hunters were fucking sick

On an unrelated note, 343 really fucked up forerunner design.

ODST>Reach>3>5>1>2>4

Gameplay
3>2>1>4>5
Story
3>2>1>4>5

2 is my favourite.

>Story
Reach
>Gameplay
Reach or 2.

2 no question

Reach in every aspect.

explain

ODST, reach, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5

Reach is my favourite, because of Nostalgia. 3 is a VERY close second. Like splitting hairs second, again, because Nostalgia.

I'll share story because it's special to me
>Reach comes out in fall of grade 11
>family problem are at an all time worse
>my living conditions were highly unstable, I was living with my mom, and then my dad, I dropped out of school due to huge anxiety and self esteem issues
>I'm currently living with dad. He tells me I CANNOT play games anymore because I played them too much growing up.
>So we're driving to pickup a part for my dads boat
>The boat place happens to be beside an EB games
>I had $150 in my wallet from saving up all year to buy Reach (I was SOOO hyped for Reach you have no idea, maybe the most I've been excited for something ever)
>When my dad parks to run inside the boat place, I quickly left the car, and hustled inside EB Games to buy the legendary edition of Halo Reach
>when I get back into the car, my dad is already back
>He looks at me pissed
>Asks how much it was
>Told him it was $150
>Disappointment and shame all over his face
>He says I wasted $150 because I won't be playing it
>We get in arguments about it
>I decide to move back to my moms house
>My mom doesn't want me to live with her
>My grandparents were more real loving parents to me than my real parents
>They took me in and I lived with her for a month
>I was finally able to play Halo Reach
>Beat the campaign on Legendary solo at there house
>Played the hell out of forge and multiplayer
>My grandparents talked my mom into allowing me to live with her again
>I went to live with her for 4 months
>during that time, I had old friends over that I knew from grade 8
>we would get high in my moms basement, and play Duck Hunt on custom games, zombies, fat kid, and warthog racing maps
>So much fucking fun was had. Some of the best memories ever

1

2, by fucking far.
>CE reuses levels, and others drag on too long. Plus the library.
>2 is just non stop, set piece to set piece, full on action. Different new races act and battle different, elites/brutes
>3 improved and perfected the gameplay. However for story purposes the amazing elites are fully replaced by brutes, who now act and battle almost exactly the same as elites. Also some poopy areas, mostly cortana being a festering shit hole of a level
>Reach is CoD shit
>ODST is fun, but short
>4 is actually decent. Feels like a return to form in some regards. Sadly a few of the areas drag on too long, the promethian sterile areas are boring to actually battle through.
>5 is actually fun as fuck to play through. Campaign is a ton of fun. However it's not really Halo, and more republic commando 2.

So really 2, then 3.

I have a similar experience
>16 years old
>parents are gone for the weekend
>had my bestfriend over
>we decide we are going to complete the Halo Reach campaign on Legendary split screen
>We decide we are going to get beer and do it drunk
>I call a delivery place called RTD, ask them to pick up 2 12 packs for us
>the guy gets to the door, says to me "uhhh, how old are you??"
>"18 sir"
>He looks like at, he obviously knows I'm underage, he just shakes his head and hands me the beer and leaves
>We start mission one, and starting drinking out first beer
>by the middle of the game, we're pissed drunk, laughing, bonding, having a great fucking time
>We beat it, we were so pumped on the last mission
>Was one of the greatest memories and nights of my life

Man. Games are more about the time you spend with people sharing a experience than playing the game itself.

>1>>>>>>ODST>Reach*
Woops

1 because of the ambient atmosphere

youtube.com/watch?v=_0jLk6bxRH4

CE was the best

2 babys fuck off with your 2 second long missions and your commie plotline about how we should all join hands and hug

Quarantine Zone, Gravemind, The Ark and The Covenant were long missions

I literally just got the Master queef collection yesterday what am I in for?

One classic, and a bunch of wank.

This is now halo story thread
> be me, 8th grade
> Oh fuck bud, halo reach is coming out
> mom picks it up while I'm in school, super excited
> my older brother says I'm not playing it because he's going to play campaign with his friends
> wtf m8, I've been waiting a year for this game
> lol too bad
> During the time, I could only play in his room because the Xbox was in there with the only decent tv for Xbox
> 1.5 months later, finally can play by having the Xbox in my room
> playing campaign with friends, having a ball
> mom calls me downstairs
> "you're grades are shit m8, you're grounded get rekt"
> give xbox to brother now, cry in despair
> had to wait till Christmas to fully play Xbox without mom breathing down my back

> be me, sophomore
> halo 4 is coming out, oh boy
> mom grounds me because grades are bad yet again
> still get to go to midnight launch
> play some of it during the night, only to turn it off when I hear mom coming to my new room downstairs (stairs were close to my room, and whoever wanted to go to my room had to walk around the staircase to get there)
> m8 don't be fucking me, I better not hear you play
> ok mommy luv u
> next day, mom demands all games in cases
> halo 4 had 2 discs, 1 for game, and other for content
> put content case in game case, kept game in xbox
> told mom that I use xbox for Netflix, no gaming so no problem
> had to go off and on gaming for a few months, being careful who was close and not get caught

My whole high school was basically grounded because I was a lazy fuck in school, but in college I don't feel lazy anymore for some reason. It's probably because of the hype going away in games releasing today :(

Have you played a Halo game before? If not, a wild ride by Bungie and a sequel/epilogue that wraps it up.

>complains about casualization
>likes halo 2
>likes halo at all

Some pretty good SP campaigns and one mediocre one and then some multiplayer that you should just not bother with because Microsoft is gay

You grew up and moved past playing video games.

I played 3 when it was free on gold a few years ago

Reach has suck a great campaign, same with odst

I agree, but one thing that pisses me off about reach is the multicultural Spartans. It makes zero sense considering they're all raised from childhood in a strict military setting to being the ultimate warriors.

pretty sure everybody agrees 2 was the worst out of the 3. your taste is pure shit. 1 is easily the best campaign and 3 beats 2 as well

CE > 2 > ODST > 3

3babys barely old enough to post here need not apply.

I doubt it, I have an Xbox one and some of the friends that I played xbox with in high school bought a Xbone as well. Some decided to go pc or to just keep their xbox 360 since they aren't busy.

Like I said, we don't hype games anymore and if something comes out, we'll get it and just have fun

Emile a best though

I like them all for different reasons, until we get into 343 territory.
1 for being pretty mysterious and letting you wonder about what all these cool alien things are.
2 for showing more forerunner stuff coupled with earth and an insight into covvie happenings.
3 is a little weak but I thought the locales were pretty neat, especially the ark itself.
ODST for its night-times cities and actually playing as a normal human bean for once.
>NEON NIGHT
Reach had a nice touch of variety with its space shooty bit, and that city level with the falcon has to be one of my favorite levels of all.
4 can go jump off a bridge because the only slightly enjoyable level in that was the Mammoth.
5 I can barely remember but it wasn't offensive.

Bungie fucked Reach up
The book was better.

3 > 1 > 2 > ODST >>>> Reach

If you guys are interested, this guy takes a closer look at the Halo games, worth checkign out in my opinion

youtu.be/VvF-Obh_BBI

Have you seen the "animated" Fall of Reach?

Whew boy.

I feel bad for people who bought Halo 5, let alone the special edition with 1/4 of Fall of Reach "animated" movie.

Story (not the script itself but the concept and lore behind it
2>CE>Reach>3>5>4>ODST
Campaign (the script and execution of the story, i.e. what we actually play)
2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CE>>>>Reach=Wars>4=ODST>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(...)>5
FUCK FUCKING BRIAN REED

Gameplay and MP balancing
2=5>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Reach>3
I'm not even gonna include 4 on that one, that's how awful it was

Art
2 (anniversary)>CE>3>5=Reach>4
5 has worse armors than Reach but it has some nice ones and the rest of the art is great, 4's armors are just so bad it can't be over anything
Also please a moment of silence for the content that was cut from Halo 5, which made it the best campaign of the series

Im pretty sure that was a lot before because a lot of them were in missons for long periods, i kinda liked that because that made them more interesting, like Emile

What do you mean with multicultural?

> Press this button: the campaign
Nope. Reach was a sign of things to come with Destiny

Gameplay:
ODST > 3 > 2 > Reach > 4 > CE > 5

Story:
2 > ODST > CE > 4 > Reach > 3 > 5

>pretty sure everybody

Objectively wrong, redditor. Go fuck off somewhere else.

2 was the best.

Why did people keep playing after 3?
Fucking idiots.

Not me good sir.

>he missed the best campaign in the series

It isn't Halo without Joe Staten, Marty O'Donnell, Eric Nylund, Jason Jones, etc

As much as I grow to despise Halo 5 yes I will agree the Campaign plays very well, even compared to some of the originals. The story was just awful, however.
