Are musou games actually fun, or does it just feel like you're chaining the same combos on damage sponges over and over? From what videos I've seen, the gameplay looks quite repetitive.
Basara at its core is still the beating of peons and bullet sponges, but the characters are more complex in variety and shit that allows for it to be a fun combo game.
The quicker way i can explain the differences between most Musou games and Basara is that in Musou you have a Square String, and when you press in the middle of a string you get a different move
so
Triangle=Guard Break
Square, Triangle=Launcher
Square, Square, Triangle=Knockback
and so on.
In Basara you don't need to go through the string to get the launcher, the knockback move and so forth. They're all mapped to different combinations, which gives you much more freedom on how you want to commit East Asian Genocide

I wish zombie hit me with her butt

for a sec i thought her scarf was her saggy tit floating through the wind
So basically it is:
Musou-->Bayonetta
Basara-->DMC
Right?

Is this game still alive? I've kind of been interested in trying a new MMORPG.
On a very superficial level yes.
Sengoku Basara 3 is the only one with an english version named Sengoku Basara Samurai Warriors.
One of the characters is voiced by Reuben Langdon so there is that
I don’t know the season
Or what is the reason
I’m standing here holding my blade
Are there any mods for this?
Unfortunately nothing aside from a few deviantart-tier retextures. It's just the right game for high speed katana action.

She is someone from an anime/manga right. Shame the author is busy with shit ass RWBY.
Very much alive. I'm not really happpy with the direction it's been taking this last year but all the fun stuff is still there and it gets minor updates every second week.
I think she's from Dogs: Bullets and Carnage.

Exactly, I actually alluded to the author being so busy on RWBY and DBC is on hiatus for more than a year now.

Don't think of it like a traditional hack-n-slash action game. It's more arcadey. The primary appeal is obviously fanservice, but the actual game is more about managing objectives and perfecting run times. The combos are simple to encourage absolute mastery of it. It's more like a soundbite strategy game where you play as a hero unit than an action game.

Pretty cool, reminds me of Oboro Muramasa, though not as clean.
By the way, does anyone know that one game on Steam that's a top down view? It's a bullet hell thing sort of similar to Binding of Issac, and the webms I've seen of it let you reflect boss projectiles with timed sword swings. I can't remember the name.
Hyper Light Drifter?
Looks like it, thanks.
