I hope you're using the superior manual transmission on your racing games, user.
I hope you're using the superior manual transmission on your racing games, user
And by that you mean 5 speed, right? Fuck 6 speed pussies, and fuck paddle wankers.
I don't play shit genres.
>mfw driving instructor refused to teach me because i stalled on a hill
Fuck me i hate driving
I want to play a game not learn how to pilot a fucking racing car.
Enjoy wasting gas by not having a 6th gear.
>manual transmission on racing games
>on racing games
>games
I think /o/ would die a little inside from your post.
Try 7speed plus sequential option. Learn to drive.
im going to use automatic transmission and you cant stop me
>manual
>racing car
A majority of cars have manual transmissions
Does the G27 work on the PS4 yet?
i imagine manual must be pretty nice if you actually have a wheel w/ stick shift
but otherwise it's kinda pointless
>doesnt already know
seriously?
Learn. Women drip when you drive manual. The first car I had was a 5 speed manual and I miss driving it so bad. You feel way more connected with the machine and the road, plus you have far more control in rain and snow conditions.
Daily reminder that the grip run beats the drift run.
>Can easily use a manual in real life
>Can't for the life of me do it in games
The fuck is wrong with me?
>only 5 gears
I would if I'd have a racing wheel and was playing something sim-ish. Problem is I don't have one, and most racing games I play are arcade.
whats the point of using manual in racing games if there is no fucking clutch?
I race with keyboard :O
Sounds like a shit instructor.
If you stall you turn off sort the gears out and start again. It takes 2 seconds. Everyone fucking stalls.
Actually this. That's one of the reason why you "learn" to drive anyway and not just get a car when you are old enough and are free to vehicular manslaughter some grannies.
That would make it too difficult? That and you need to buy another fucking pedal on top of the steering wheel AND possibly a stick shift if you want true realism you need to buy a shifter.
Shits getting spendy user. :(
O_O
My Summer Car thread?
>doing exam again in a few days
>KNOW I'm going to fuck something up because the cars they use are tuned to be twitch perfect while the cars I've been driving are old busted ones that have some free room for mistakes
>if I let go of the clutch too soon the car's gonna die
>if I give gas too soon the instructor's gonna be pissy about it
>I'm gonna be worrying about it the whole time and not paying attention as much as I would normally
Fuck me
I've been driving manual for about 5 years, and I still have fun driving while playing eurobeat.
Now if only I'm not stuck on the road with idiots.
>Women drip when you drive manual
Why? It's not hard. I'm the clumsiest cunt going and I have no problems with manual.
itt post what kind of car you drive
>pic related
Its weird i drive stick in real life (never even tried automatic) but in games i always choose automatic since i cant be bothered lel
My first car was a micra, It had no rev counter and an automatic cut-off thats as sensitive as the tip of my dick. I fucking hate cars like that they stall if they think you gonna stall.
I live in Europe, everyone drives manual here. And women sure as fuck don't drip when I show them my car or casual driving skills.
Manual of course.
Can I use controller stick for this?
You don't feel the clutch feedback like the bite, simple
>aunt lives on a very steep hill on a busy road with cars parked tightly together on each side of the road
>mfw there are 4 other people in the car and i have to park in the only available gap there is
Good instructors don't give a shit about details like that since they know every car is different. It doesn't take long for you to adapt, and if the instructor gets pissy about it tell him or her you're used to older cars. Nobody is expecting you to drive modern shit these days, especially if you're young.
the worst part is no one would notice if you did it perfectly but if you roll back a tiny bit they will start complaining.
It's better to give it more gas than not enough
Step aside with your fancy shit, let me show you a real beauty.
>learn to drive manual
>be pretty ok with it
>sweet car becomes available for good price
>it's automatic
>too good to pass up
driving is now weird.
manuel
never even used automatic
>Good at driving manual
>Switch gears when you hit 4k
>Implying skill
>hand always moving to the gearstick whenever you change speed
>leg is fucked and walks all over the footwell looking for a pedal that doesnt exist.
isn't 4k unnecessary? the highest I go is 3k before I upshift when I'm driving normal.
>Learned to drive manual, as it should be (yurop)
>Our main family car is too big for me to drive, i have to wait three years for legal reasons
>So i have to use the smaller car, that happens to be automatic
>After almost 2 years i forgot all the subtleties of driving manual
>When i try to drive the bigger car i make the engine shut down constantly
>Learnt to drive manual
>Purchase automatic car
Automobile master race reporting in, plebs need not apply
Unfortunately automatic
what makes it worse is I learnt to drive in the UK, new car is left hand drive, so every time I go for the gear stick my hand goes for the window controls, ffs
it depends on gear ratios and so on and so forth
and where your car currently is, going up hills requires more time spent in lower gears
manual
>tfw want to drift but it fucks up the tires really fast
I've done a small amount of drift on some old tires, but that's it.
Wait for a rainy day.
How do i drift?
>never stalled when learning how to drive
God bless the krauts for the E190, I started to climb a hill on second gear on my exam and the instructor didn't notice.
>plus you have far more control in rain and snow conditions.
>manualfags STILL don't realize automagics have a low gear setting
Snow drifting is where it's at
>anything is a perfect drifting spot as long as there's enough room and nobody to get in the way
>fun as hell at any speed
>no tire wear or cop-attracting noise
>the cops don't give a single shit unless you're being a retard and trying to pull shit in an unfitting spot
driving is a fucking chore, after a few months of getting my license I traded in for a automatic. zero regrets.
...
Transfer weight to outside wheels, turn in, break traction, control oversteer, get bitches.
Either a girl or a fag
Not when playing on controller which is most of the time. Only having a sequential shifter bound to a fucking button feels lame as shit.
If this is a thinly veiled thread about what I drive in real life I drive a manual Volvo V50 cuckwagon
There are literally NO advantages to using a manual transmission.
>tfw get motion sick after driving for the first time in months
I only know how to initiate drift by accelerating into the turn to lose traction. How do I git gud?
Some games make automatic way too easy or even better then manual. Unless manual has some clear bonus then there is no reason to go manual in game.
I used to drive manual long ago on my dads farm truck. When i moved to the city i would start to panic in traffic so i switched to auto. I can still manual but would rather not.
If you live in America your car wont get stolen, I'd say that's a pretty big advantage.
I hate cars and people who drive them.
...
what wheel do you guys use
Cheaper to repair, my man.
Get an instructor that's not a cunt
Learning manual was fun and I stalled countless times. I drive auto now because reacting with manual is slow as fuck but it was good to learn
kek
Modern cars have electronic locks on them, mate. You can't steal them unless you have the key.
>tfw got a manual license so I'd never have to drive one again
feels good man
can save more fuel depending on driver and cheaper insurance.
Steering wheel
2 3 1
If I had a wheel, pedal and shifter setup i'd be using manual all the time but I don't so I stick to automatic for games, I'm shit enough as it is without having to deal with gears at the same time.
>It's impossible to bypass an electronic lock
Hyundai Getz
It's my fathers but still.
>mfw its slowly degrading
>I drive manual
Consumer cars are mostly automatic these days
Only race cars still use manuals and that's because they need that kind of control
> Start out on an Auto
> 5 years later move to manual
> Spend next 2 years stalling every time i try to take off from lights.
2, cos he's on da main road and not turning
3, cos main road
1
ez as fuck
That's what I'd say too but i can't decipher the bottom left sign
More control over the car. In case of shit hitting the fan you can always immediately clutch in to disconnect the engine from the transmission without engaging the brakes.
2-3-1.
231 right?
>tfw driving for 7 years and forgetting basic stuff
Why is manual far more common in Europe?
You are fucking dumb
...
But there's a give way sign on 2
There are few cars that don't have a manual tranny as an option at least, but I guess they don't bother selling the manual versions in the US
It will make you a better overall driver
>Git gud
On phone so dont know if the meme arrows work
no
Who /mx5/ here? It's the ultimate fun weeb car 2bh famiglia.
No there isn't
I don't know how is it called in English, but it's just a warning sign.
I literally have no idea. It's strange because American cars are generally bigger and have more horsepower so automatic is just a waste for them.
