Died in favor of let's plays and steaming.

Also filming tricks in the games are incredibly dated because no devs put fun film making tools in their games anymore which sucks since during 2009-11 they were really starting to get popular.

Lets Plays blew out Machinima really hard. Also Arby N' the Chief was the only good show

The amount of goofy shit on the internet went up exponentially since 07/08, machinima got drowned away.

It became easier to just do actual 3D animation.

Aray n the chief are still getting new episodes.
However he still uses halo reach as a base...kinda weird that master chief hasn't moved to halo 4 or 5

They both did, there's a new season with episodes coming out every so often.

They're basically in some kind of afterlife/purgatory on some mission. It's not quite clear yet.

Lets Plays require less effort and artistic/directorial skill to be successful; just sitting down and playing stuff is easier than writing scripts, setting up shots, voice acting etc.

Ay, fuck you guys, the dude knows how to write. He's just sick of writing comedy and wants to write more dramatic stuff but dude's gotta make a living and AnTC still sells. Tryna kick off an entirely new series with as much freedom as AnTC ain't fuckin' easy.

It got shafted for lets plays. Goofy shit is just goofy shit, but with lets plays and commentaries people can now act as if they have actual friends.
