Life is Strange is shit

How does anyone like this game? It's literally a story of a whiny stereotypical high school hipster liberal lesbian(?) getting the ability to rewind time for some reason and then she runs into her fucking Super Saiyan Blue edgyass girlfriend, and a tornado comes and kills people, literally any Telltale game is x1000 better than this garbage. To get into actual criticism, the most glaring problem in this game is how not one single fucking character is either likeable or relatable, which is fucking trash when you make this kind of game, for example, the best thing I can saty about Max is that she is bland, that's it, everyone else is dislikable or forgettable, it's a really shit game. Never have tried the spoiler tag before, so this better work. If not, mods please be gracious.

because waifus

it had potential but that ending was easy lazy and shitty

the porn is good

Well yeah, of course. Doesn't make the game good tho.

The most glaring problem is that literally nothing matters in the end.

>Save the town
Go back before you made all the decisions
>Save Chloe
Everyone but Chloe is dead so your decisions didnt matter

absolutely garbage game only good thing is porn

as to why it got unironic decent scores, it's PROGRESSIVE and shit

Post the webm where she cries and he shoots her in the head and starts fucking her

it's too bad you're not man enough to enjoy time traveling high school lesbian simulator 2015

Exactly. One thing I have yet to figure out is if whether choices matter more in the Telltale games or in Life is Shit.

Literally a game for white girls from the suburbs but Sup Forums will openly discuss it regardless as if its a good game.

The entire game leads up to one of these.

FUCKING JUST POST IT I NEED IT NOW

New fag redditor fresh off the boat from /r/thedonald

The story is inept bullshit, but what really gets to me is the animation. Everyone's movement is so stunted. Just look at their faces. Nothing moves except for their jaw when they speak. How has technology improved so much, yet animation that was barely acceptable on the Playstation 2 is acceptable. Hell, some N64 games have better animation than this.

I can't even think of a redeeming quality about this game. There are some games where one or two aspects really shine, so other weaker aspects can be forgiven. The gameplay is baby's first point-and-click with a time travel mechanic that makes it impossible to fail, the story inane bullshit, the voice acting is average at best, the graphics looks to clay-like to be realistic and too realistic to be stylized, the soundtrack is hipster bullshit, and I've seen marionettes with better animation.

Why do gamers keep propping up shit like it's a shining beacon of quality. There is a treasure trove of games where actual talent was put into them. Play a few of those once in awhile, or is anything even slightly complex too overwhelming?

Sorry. Well get back to alt right political circle jerking for you

Not an argument

I hope there's more to this webm. Such as the extermination of those things. Those things are a fucking BLIGHT in any area you encounter them.

Yeah, I fucking hate them, they really need to be eradicated

>developers insist during and before development that choices will have a major impact
>developers insist there will never be a binary choice or ending

>game ends with a strictly binary choice
>either wipe out the town so everything you did there is pointless or go back in time for good so everything you did there is pointless

It's not that it's necessarily a shitty game (though it certainly isn't that good), it's that the ending rendered the rest of the game completely pointless. Even if you save Captain Bluehairedlesbian you only get a 20 second ending cutscene that resolves and shows nothing, so in the end you are fucked either way and your choices didn't mean shit.

The worst part was the music they played at the end of each episode.

Not a denial either, go to Sup Forums or fuck off

That's fucking hilarious. Could you imagine any of them playing a Telltale game? They'd fucking shit themselves.

Not the same user but this game (and almost all games that fit into this "genre") is total shit

My biggest gripe with the game is how fucking awful the dialogue can be sometimes. It's like they weren't even hiding that a bunch of grown men were writing for teenagers.

I'm sorry they don't appeal to you.

This "game" has objectively the worst waifus.

...

This is the biggest problem with this "genre" in general. I actually like LiS overall, and I enjoy most of the Telltale games, but I need to stop thinking my choices have any real consequence or meaning.

Go back to your shitty general on /vg/, I know you post there

HELLA

Man I had no qualms with letting the blue haired bitch die at the end of the game. Almost half the game is Max trying to keep Chloe from committing suicide through sheer stupidity.

>Oh I know I'll blackmail a drug dealer. What could go wrong?
>Oh I know I'll drink booze and play with a gun, despite clearly never having any gun training. What could go wrong?
>Oh I know I'll smoke weed in my room with my ex-army, security guard step father. What could go wrong?
>Oh I know I'll play on the train tracks, what could go wrong?
>I think I know where Rachel's body is. Lets not tell the cops and instead go dig it up ourselves. What could go wrong?
>Go back in time, save her father, she can't even drive a car without ending up in a crash that paralyzes her.
>There are people who legitimately think sacrificing the entire town to save this dumbass is the better choice. Like she isn't just going to end up putting herself in a near death situation in the next god-forsaken hell-hole they go to.
I'm sure there was more but it's been so long.

>that idiot that saved literal who's from whoville over the only person that matters to you.

This game is aimed at people born between 1995-1999. Honestly, it's just kid hipster shit, nothing wrong with it. We had a bunch of terrible fucking Spike Jonze films in the mid-00's. Same thing.

...

As long as you're not insecure about your masculinity or whatever, it's a based game. The end has some issues, but the atmosphere, music, characters, and most of the plot make it a 9/10.

Who fucking cares? The decisions don't actually matter. It's an interactive story, so if you're going to criticize it, criticize the story, not the issues related to gameplay. I allowed to get myself wrapped up in the story enough that I simply didn't care that the endings wiped out my decisions. Fucking Sup Forums.

It was made on a low budget, so I'm not sure what you expected. It was made by a stagnating game studio that had previously made one unsuccessful, forgettable game.

>The worst part was the music they played at the end of each episode.
How? That's one of the best tracks off the OST.

Yeah agreed, the dialogue is absolute fucking garbage, yet somehow, the characters still manage to shine through and I was completely in love with them by the end.

>characters
Hahahaha no. The characters are fucking shit, and that's the biggest problem I have with this game, the only good thing about these characters is A. They're fuckable and B. They are somewhat complex. But the problem is I don't fucking care about them. They are unlikable and make stupid decisions constantly beyond your control.

>who cares about the interactivity its an interactive story.

What other games let me live out my fantasy of being a lesbian teenage?

I always thought it would be like that so I avoided it. it's weird how it gets shilled though. My bet is middle aged fags who like anything with young people or the sjw crowd.

Chloe's one of the best characters in any game of this decade. You're probably someone who hates her because she's a whining selfish bitch or whatever.
Max makes some dumb decisions throughout, and just leaving the bunker in episode 4 was unbelievably stupid, but there aren't many stupidity issues beyond that. It's pretty par for the course for any piece of fiction featuring time travel, really. The premise invites stupid character decisions, otherwise the protagonist solves everything in five minutes and the story's over.

Nobody actually likes your game and those who do are busy jacking it instead of posting in one of those shitty threads

My point is that first and foremost, it's a story. Not a game. Sperging out about the interactivity of it is stupid.

I thought it was okay, but didn't get far. I couldn't tell if it was poking fun parody at shit or was series with its anti-bully signs and things.

Didn't get far because its video is broken as fuck as screen tears out the asshole regardless of settings.

Supposedly it has a fix but fuck if I could find a working download.

I liked the characters. The game had a good atmosphere and made me feel like a highschool girl. It's also a nice fantasy about the skill that EVERYONE wanted when they were that age and still learn how life works. So the idea is very good. It's not made perfectly and the two-possible-endings thing sucks. But there's no reason to hate on the game. It has some very memorable scenes and overall good story. Just... you know, relax a bit and try to have fun now and then, guys.

Don't link to /vg/.

>you probably unlike one of the main characters because she is an unlikable selfish bitch
Very nice stuff

Did your issues take the form of the floors turning into incredibly bright multicolored light? That's what happens on my laptop on most resolutions, and I once saw it in a YT video once.

this desu

Go fuck your self OP

If your attention span can't last 10 minutes and you need a game to be literally Michael Bay special effects everywhere don't blame the game, blame your self.

>tfw this was more interesting than OP thread. Got anymore boars?

>itt guys who can only relate to god of war, think kratos is the pinacle of character creation, probably have stash of Rob Liefeld comics.

>the most glaring problem in this game is how not one single fucking character is either likeable or relatable
That's a you problem bro.

>"game"
Yeah I agree, only games that have guns and absolutely zero plot or characters deserve to be called games. Look how pretentious I am, everyone! Games must fit my narrow, traditional definition or else they're garbage

Fuck your general I want to argue with these autists who need to be put in their place

>Strawman
I don't give a shit about explosions or special effects, i want likable main characters.

kek yeah, the characters were almost all relatable in one way or another. this is on you, OP, not the game

The main characters were likable. If you didn't like Chloe, you didn't pay attention (or maybe just didn't play) episodes 3 and 4. If you didn't like Max, well, you're just kind of weird, because I liked her within about 10 minutes of the beginning.

>waifu fags vs jaded Sup Forumsirgins episode

THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN. A battle that our grandchildren will be told legends of.

Chloe was a childish idiot.

>There is a treasure trove of games where actual talent was put into them
Name one game with a better narrative.

>inb4 Shitscape: Torment, VtMB or some other fedora shit

Your telling me you didn't find a SINGLE important character enjoyable in some way? You've got some psychological problems If you didn't want to save Kate

:^)

For

>assuming THIS much of his opinion on what makes a game and getting so triggered on top of it

Yeah, it's weird to hear people bitching about the characters. There was some problems with the youth-lingo they spoke, some cringy moments and what not. But not likable? They were very, very relatable and if you were not an awkward, nerdy teenager or a photography enthusiast or a rebel punker, you can still understand and relate to where they are coming from. The game is very well written and it should not trigger anyone to hate it. It's pretty harmless in on its self so you either don't care for it or you like it. Nothing to hate except the "make decisions yet one destination" shit at the end. And the only reason that sucks is because we're so used to that in every game with branching paths. It cheating and we know it's because how expensive it would be to make 10 compelling endings.

999.

Chloe had a kind of screwed up life. It (rightfully) made her jealous and insecure and scared of abandonment. She immaturely lashes out at people because she's feels afraid inside and doesn't want to be seen that way.
The alternate timeline showed that if her father hadn't died, she would have been one of the nicest, most mature characters in the whole game.
You're just proving that either you didn't play the game, you didn't understand the game, or you lack empathy.

I just like it for the lesbians and the too perfect to be real christian girl.

If you didn't choose to kill everyone and run off with your hot punk girlfriend then what are you even doing faggot

came here to post this

>hot

What's the other option? 99 times out of 100, when people on Sup Forums say that something isn't a game, it's because it's something like Life is Strange or The Last of Us where narrative is favored over gameplay. So really, what else could he have meant?

>There was some problems with the youth-lingo they spoke
I've heard from northwest coast people that 'hella' is actually a pretty common expression. (There were definitely problems beyond that, though).

this

>Alpha Centauri
Seriously. The half-pages of text that would occasionally pop up when you first explored things, got certain tech or created certain units carried infinitely more depth than this shit.

>not one single fucking character is either likeable or treatable

this is your problem, not the games

How many berniefags do you think are in this thread right now?

it tries to get the point and click, walking simulator audience. Its just one of the bad examples, because some are actually pretty ok
the whole premise of these games is to be very heavily story based, more so then other games that just have a lot of cut scenes and heavy story but get called "movies" for it (the last of us)
this just comes off as a try hard, too deep for you attempt and therefore feels pretentious. The effort is there, but its so full of itself its hard to ignore

New thread

How many fags do you think are in this thread right now?

Well, you're making the wrong claim. There are plenty of games with better narratives (first one that comes to my mind is The Last of Us). LiS nails characters and atmosphere better than virtually anything, has a GOAT soundtrack, and has a solid narrative.

>Youth lingo
>All kids have to speak in one way
>Especially maginalised loners who are desperately trying to create their own identity

>Chloe will never bully you and dance on the bed smoking weed while her step-fucker yells from downstairs
why even live

I fail to see how it's pretentious. It's just a sort of blend between game and film. Are things that challenge traditional forms of fiction/storytelling inherently pretentious in your mind?

>If the characters are shit it's your problem
