Where you've been when atlus saved CRPGs?

>a fucking elf

>a Fool's journey begins
Major Arcana confirmed.

...

You wouldn't an elf onee-sama, would you?

...

I'va always kinda wanted a Japanese company to try their hands on making a full-on, high fantasy CRPG.

Apparently this elf lady will share a journey with a young boy
The boy is probably orphan and she will meet him and stick around while the boy grows old

I never got how the past decade anime has seen a huge resurgence of high fantasy, especially through the stuck in an MMO/transported to another world genre, but games haven't followed suit. Tales series qualifies I guess, and some other minor franchises, but no new IP's.

>Director who greenlighted nocturne and persona 5 scenario

REEE FANTASY

Who's the main artist on this? I recognize the style but can't place it.

>elf girl might not even be the MC
why bother then?

Soejimiama Mamashurachan

>Chinese RPG
>Atlus

???

Revival of fantasy.

>atlus started doing modern setting RPGs because everyone else was doing fantasy
>now they're doing medieval fantasy because no one else in japan is doing it

Here, hoping you EOPs won't get it.

It's good strategy. Hole in the market.

PLEASE BE ON SWITCH

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

They wont because they're EOP.

Doesn't look much like Soejima's usual style though. Always thought he was a one trick pony.

nintentoddler desperation. Sad!

>wanting it censored

into the trash you go

Looking forward to its western release in a decade.

>current year
>being a nip

>Its Isekai to cash in on the fad of the last few years

Really, how have no big JRPG companies started doing this? I guess Ni No Kuni 2 has that business suit guy magically find his way into the NNK world. But really they could do a CAC isekai game with the most absolute generic world and if they had good combat it would be worth it

Hos characters are very much alike

But I guess he can diversify
Also, there is nothing pointing towards soejima doing all those concept pics

>tfw Hashino and Atlus will use the stuff they learned doing this to improve smt and persona aswell, just like Catherine also helped them learn a few things

Best part of the deal

>Where you've been when atlus saved CRPGs?
>Where you've been

I bet it will be one of those kiddies shit, JRPGs are too childish...I use to love them but the older I get, you play one you've played them all

Someone at atlus watched Re:Zero
Im pretty fucking sure

I can't wait to play this when it releases in TWO THOUSAND TWENTY

Shit show.

wut is crpg desu

Chink rpg
Its a new genre

CRPG? It's for the Personal Computer?

Arpg is action rpg
Srpg is strategy rpg

Okay...
Wrpg is western rpg and jrpg is japanese rpg
BUT SIME FUCKING HOW
Crpg isnt chinese rpg

Please be console exclusive.

What jrpgs used to be before it turned into little girl quests

Classic RPG, like Baldur's Gate.

>A Fool's Journey

enough of this wild card bullshit

Real RPGs like Baldurs Gate, Ultima or Planescape Torment.

>newfreinds dont know what a crpg is

So, shitty games?

...

If you're an underage cunt who liked Skyrim and Witcher 3, yes.

game is a porn/hentai game -> I jerk off to it
game is a game -> I play it

Atlus games are neither, can't really be played or jerked off to

This is what my mother said when she saw your cock

Witcher 3 is the only modern rpg out there wich will be a classic like baldurs gate.

C uck RPG. Popularized on the PC platform. The progenitor of many sub-genres of RPGs you play today.

Video game RPGs that are a complete adaptation of table top mechanics?
Usually older titles?

>cuck
>progenitor of anything
how

Witcher 3 doesn't have enough longevity attached to it, it's a very well polished game but it doesn't do anything innovative or extraordinary. It won't echo through the same halls as Baldurs Gate or Bloodlines.

20 years from now, the games that will be remembered from this era and on a bunch of "20 best rpgs ever" will be stuff like [whichever soulsborne games lasts longest]

I don't really see them developing CRPGs given that Japan hasn't done so before. What are they trying to do different this time?

This I think.
Pretty much every game has "RPG-elements" nowadays so the lines get blurry. But a classic RPG's gameplay systems should correspond for at least 90% to traditional tabletop rpg rulesets. Even if it isn't turn-based.

they planned this from the very beginning.

>crpg
You wish steamnigger. Itll be ps4 exclusive.

>polished
I get it! Nice one.

What? Japan has made the CRPG evolve and survive while the west predominantly makes action/adventure shooters with RPG elements, not true CRPG's.

>atlas saving anything

They can't even save jrpg. Fuck them.

NO DARK ELFS, NO BUY ATLUS!!

That armor is the one variation of "boobplate" I can condone.

Fuck off with your meme elves.

>Sup Forums is so underage they don't know what a CRPG or a cRPG is

anyway, no screenshots. Just concept art, so whatever. The game could be good or could be pure shit.

Yes I would.

Visual novel RPGs, but western, so overhyped.

>implying FATLUS didn't release this year's best games
>le saving meme, as if they need that

EOP as insult is retarded. You only get amerfags and maybe some roos'. Britons speak Arabian anyways.
I don't speak Japanese yet. But I do know more languages than just English, being non-native speaker.

Given the people involved art, music, and story will most likely be okay.

It'll all depend on gameplay. Will they copy-paste the SMT/Persona combat engine? Ditch turn-based and go for more action? New IP so they could go any direction.

>published
W E W
IT MEANS NOTHING

So basically shitty VNs with a western dirt aesthetic.

Wew, goalpost moving

It's why they had to dispose of Kaneko. He knew too much. He was a threat to their plans.

Etrian Odyssey and Dark Spire are both Atlus series and they're pretty much japanase Wizardry games. That's CRPG at its best.

I just had a life-threatening seizure. Prepare for legal litigation to be brought against you. I will keep everyone posted and order hiro to subpoena all data related to you

>le medieval goblins and le trolls tolkien shit

wont even care enough to pirate this one

>Given the people involved art, music, and story will most likely be okay.
I don't agree since Persona is fucking garbage.

That is a Vanillaware game faggot

They want The Witcher's audience, they don't care about you

Read the other post faggot

not surprised. i just hate the generic medieval fantasy setting not in rpgs, but in any game. its so dull and overplayed. i love atlas and the smt games and a couple purse owners but i have zero interest in this one.

>not highschool weebshit
Only reason I'm slightly interested
>inb4 medieval knight academy or some gay shit

I'm looking forward to the valkyria chronicles 3 remake or valkyria chronicles 4...

You can argue all day whether persona games have good or bad stories, but the art and music? no way. Even at it's worst it's pretty good

Sorry I'm not impressed by generic shonen garbage manga art.

Do I need to watch Re;Zero and rest of the RE: seires shows first?

Yes.

There's no need to argue, the entire industry agreed
Persona 5 is GOTY
blog.hokanko-alt.com/archives/50265517.html

>tfw non-rpgs will never not be refereed to as rpgs

>concept art
its fucking nothing

>people get mad that japan can't make anything good
>when they are just rehashing the shit that the west makes
really makes you think

>tfw autists will never stop thinking their headcanon definition of rpg is the only correct one

I wouldn't be surprised if whoever did SMT IV's concept art did some of the pieces.

>doesn't know what headcanon means either
Oh, how surprising.

It's contextual.

Computer RPG from when you had to distinguish it from Dungeons and Dragons.

>no video
>no plot
>no even pics
You fucking cultist.

>concept art is gonna save RPGs
yeah, no.

Sonygger shitposting - AUTISM! Many such cases. Sad!
