>The Strange Journey OST is a bit of an acquired taste. I was put off by it at first, but the disconcerting melodies and strange chanting grew on me after a while. I appreciate them at least attempting to break the mold and try something different (something they reneged on in future titles, notably SMTIV).
That being said, they went way too far with some of the tracks; the Sector 3 music for example is downright cacophonous and far too harsh on the ears given how long you spend in the area.

>The EO4 battle theme is a huge favorite for a lot of people. It's a bit too energetic for a regular battle theme if you ask me, but still a lot of fun and does a nice job at reflecting the overall tone of the games. A few other good ones from EO:

>The Last Remnant has an insane amount of battle themes, but I like this one just because of the amount of dread it inspires in the player. It accompanies some of the more challenging bosses in the game (in an already difficult game). It isn't epic or inspiring, but rather crushing, and a refreshing change of pace from "special" boss themes in other JRPGs
