Who /hype for the port of a 3 year old game/ here?
Who /hype for the port of a 3 year old game/ here?
Does it have new tracks?
>buying a $300 Wii-U port machine
...
I sure am. Remember that they didn't have to include a whole new battle mode and new characters, but they did it anyway.
no just all the dlc from what i heard
>5 battle modes confirmed
>one of them is either Shine Thief or Shine Runners
Of course I'm hyped. Never played the original either.
They should have included Double Dash mode. It would be perfect on multiple Switches, one kart on each Switch.
How fucking cucked are you. Of course they had to, they're selling a port of a 3 year old game at full price.
Are you sure? I saw in the trailer that they added new characters like king boo and shit
>Buy MK8
>About two weeks later, MK8D gets announced during the presentation
That presentation gave me some unreal fucking buyer's remorse over the Wii-U for a few hours. Had they announced Sm4sh on it, I would have just sold my Wii-U within the week. I'm not buying the Switch until the summer at the earliest anyway so no big deal, I've got some games to hold me over till then.
How fucking delusional are you? Any other company would had simply updated the visuals and call it a day. Nintendo on the other hand introduced a ton of really cool new stuff for the game.
They added battle mode tracks, but no racing ones
...
there are new characters and battle modes I think, but no new tracks.
Kind of lazy of Nintendo considering they couldve atleast added some more retro tracks, since the core level design for those is there already.
That doesn't mean they can't still add them later on, even as free DLC.
I didn't get a chance to play it so I'm excited
>mfw bought all dlc for mk8
>mfw mk8d announced with everything mk8 plus more.
I really don't want to pay more for the same shit. Not worth it...r-right /v?
Negativity
how hard is it to cut out people like the splatoon guy when Adobe Photoshop has the magnetic lasso
>buying a console for a port
I already own it for Wii U so I'm not going to buy it. However you people really should consider the fact they sold 8 million (or 2 million, sources vary) copies of Mario Kart 8 while it's predecessor Mario Kart Wii sold 36 million copies. So theoretically there are around 30 million potential buyers that did not buy Mario Kart 8 the first time, so porting it to the Switch isn't really all that crazy even if no one who owned the Wii U buys it a second time (which of course you shouldn't in my opinion). Of course this assumes that the Switch will do better than the Wii U and I know alot of you expect it to fail, but their marketing and general message is alot stronger this time, it probably will not reach Wii heights but it can still do pretty good.
New characters and kart parts are pretty irrelevant. It really just boils down to whether or not you like battle mode.
>Motherfucking King Boo and 4 other new characters
>proper battle mode with lots of tracks and new modes
>new items and double items
Totally worth it. Also, the tracks thing is not even definitive yet. Wait to see what do they say about it. As I said before, getting some new tracks as free DLC later on is a possibility.
I think it'll be like the 3DS and start picking up steam once it has Pokemon and a Smash Bros
I have it on Wii U, DLC included, and I think I'll pick it up. Mario Kart 8 on the go to play with friends is really the main selling point for me
me
>tfw didn't buy the DLC
I honestly believe the only people who think the Switch line up sucks are the ones who didn't play/liked xenoblade 2
seriously gonna get a switch just for that game, everything else is supplementary
Reminder that this and all of Splatoon 2 were probably planned DLC until Jewtendo fucked Wii U owners.
>Ignoring Arms
>Missing I Am Setsuna as a timed exclusive
>Implying Splatoon 2 is a port
>lackluster lineup
>THAT
Who is the mentally impaired fuck that made that shitty picture?
>free
lmao
I'm kinda concerned about being able to hold two items now. MK8 was nice and fast with the nerfs to item stun and Lakitu recovery, now there's going to be potentially twice as much shit being tossed around.
>Deluxe
Yeah right
>I Am Setsuna
>timed exclusive
I can get it on PS4, Vita, or Steam right now
200cc was totally free, you moron. So is all the past and future DLC of Splatoon.
are you retarded?
>Missing I Am Setsuna as a timed exclusive
Are they going to temporarily take back all those copies they sold on PS4, Vita and PC?
I'd be seriously impressed if Xenoblade 2 actually comes out this year.
>free DLC
>DLC for a port of a 3 year old game that already has new content
Yeah, no. Wait for Mario Kart 9 if you want new courses.
You're delusional if you think nintendo won't charge anything for extra tracks but I guess we'll have to wait and find out ;)
Xenoblade X actually came out 2 years ago already, so I don't see why not. It'd surprise me if WE got it this year.
Will get it eventually. Was having fun with the Wii-U version just the other day and wouldn't mind playing with a new audience.
I want /mk8g/ to stay go.
1 year ago in america. 1 year and a half in Japan.
And just remember there's only 1 mario kart per console
>Not including F-Zero in the trash can
I'll buy it because I'm a drone and I hate myself.
>Who is the mentally impaired fuck that made that shitty picture?
Probably a PSNigger that is butthurt.
>the new shit will never be available as dlc for the wii u version
kill me
>April 29, 2015
That will be 2 years and a half for when the game releases. More than enough time. The American release has basically nothing to do with them.
that sounds like the standard goty repack to me, no one ever has a problem with that
I really doubt they're stupid enough to consider MK8D to be the Switch's one Mario Kart game.
The only way to get money's worth out of the Wii U was to buy it when it already had a few games out and play whatever was left. I bought MK8 and Splatoon on release day.
Doesn't release until summer in the west on those platforms.
Really? 24 new maps as a dlc?
Ok i didnt read the never
shitty bait image. apply yourself.
You really should've waited for the presentation. MK8 was a safe bet for a Switch port.
Think about the consumer though. Why would the majority of people buy a mario kart 9 on the switch once 8 deluxe is out? All it would do is split the community by releasing another mario kart title on the same platform. I don't like it, but that is what Nintendo has chosen to do and it will hurt their sales in the long ruin.
Whoops I'm an idiot, it released in July 2016.
Yes. Been training up with a pretty strong bunch of players in weekly online tournaments. Looking forward playing with a huge amount of new players as best Koopa.
I sold my Wii U copy for $25.
I really hope Wii U games don't suddenly go up in price for some shitty reason.
Also, anyone know if Deluxe is full price?
Except they can keep making DLC for it.
Make the first track DLC free and next year make some new paid DLC.
It's the Smash conundrum: Why would you make a new game when it can't possibly live up to all the characters/tracks/stages of the previous one? Getting an Smash For port is a safe bet too.
Call me a pessimist but I have a feeling smash isnt coming till next year or not at all.
How many races have you won against clanfag extreme edition?
>smash isnt coming till next year
I can totally see that. Still, I'm saying we're getting an E3 announcement for sure.
Me solely because it might bring back Sup Forumseekend
This.
60€ price tag on amazon. should be around the same in dollars.
I don't see why it wouldnt be full price. New console, new content, etc
I'd still rather just wait until winter when some of those games will actually be out
Half are ports, so yeah.
>BotW is a port
>MK8 is a port
>FEM for the 3DS
Races as in first? Id say 5-6. Im just happy getting 5th or 3rd. Won rainbow road today.
But its like global on steroids. Even if you are coming 9th or 10th, you are ALWAYS a target. Get mid position in the mob, green shells become more dangerous than red (they can aim disgustingly well), people being hit everywhere its insane.
You are better holding an item as a type of flack jacket to hopefully help you last long enough for the next pick up.
Its chaos though. Plan for me is lap 1, get 10 coins, lap 2, try to survive mob and stay in mid place, lap 3, survive.
Go whatever vehicle you like (I go full standard kart, wheels and glider as bowser) but it all goes down to surviving the meat grinder and knowing your track lines. It can be very frustrating but also intense as hell.
>tfw no Smash announcement during Switch presentation
>no smashfags to ruin Mario Kart Sup Forumseekends
>for now, at least
>Splatoon 1.5 now with paid online
>expecting XC2 and SMT this year
>Mario Kart: The Quest for More Money
Zelda and Mario are going to be great, though. Unless CEMU can get Zelda running, that's the only games that look good for the Switch.
Well the reason mario kart died on here was cause of a skype group. Like most online communities it fell apart and one or two people tirned the anonymous peeps in each thread againt one another and pretty much killed it.
Genuine circklejerking and something to be wary of.
As much as I hate the Switch and won't buy one, you can't deny that is an amazing first year lineup.
SMT is not coming out this year.
>amazing first year lineup.
>hate the Switch and won't buy one
What's this about Splatoon being about 1.5? We haven't seen everything about the game yet and they're changing things.
Well that to me is best case. My gut told me no smash for launch or announcememt. Its just a nintendo thing. Love em but always expect the worst.
I fear no smash at all in the very back of my head but yeah, here hopes e3 too. My OCD is in this mind to drop it cause of that and playing it for way too many hours. Id estimate i have 4k hours now...Kart is much more casual and you naturally exhaust yourself after a session.
Id play Smash way too long. But on the other hand, it was so fun and I still love it.
Please post price of PS4 at launch and its launch line-up. I would like to contrast and compare the two user :)
I hate everyone who keep supporting Nintendo since Other M
I sincerely hope that you will all be gruesomely killed with your families
How can people allow this to happen
Videogames are truly a manchildren hobby , such levels of retardation
Probably a wii u late adopter. It doesnt bother me as I knew id use mine a fair bit but for those on tight budgets or got it recent, its a right kick in the teeth.
k.
I'm in a love-hate relationship with Nintendo. Huge Metroidfag, so the very fact that they actually let Other M happen and let it kill the franchise makes me legitimately angry but I love a lot of their games still so I always buy Nintendo systems anyway.
...
Since Mario Kart has been pretty much considered canon in the nintendoverse, think Ganondorf would ever end up on the race track if invited? Link did.
>Paid online.
Nope.
But he's right; the actual launch line-up is Zelda, Bomberman, and some other casual and indie games
I don't think I will, but I'm aware there's a lot of people who would enjoy it that skipped the Wii U. Those people are in for a real treat with this one. Easily a Top 3 game for the franchise. Have fun.
Im hype for new content and also playing online cause I live in australia with potato internet - im hoping nintendo actually delivers on their promosie of half decent servers so i can actually get gud instead of just playing local multiplayer
At the very least you can be sure they'll get proper dedicated servers for Mario Kart, Splatoon and Smash.
Mario Kart 8 is p2p, I doubt they'll make dedicated servers for the MK8D.
>I doubt they'll make dedicated servers for one of their biggest games
Yeah, I'm sure they really don't want you to buy their online services.
>bought MK8 and all the DLC
>absolutely don't want to buy an enhanced port for the Switch
>still wanna play MK8 online
Fucking next-gen ports, man.
Bought it for the Wii U.
I'll be hype if they add more DLC. MK8 was great, probably the best in the franchise. But I already have MK8 + DLC.
If the Switch one gets more DLC and improved online play then I might double dip.
>Vital functions locked behind a smartphone app instead of being able to done on the console.
>One NES game or SNES game a month (you have to give it back after a month).
>Barely any games to justify the cost of an online subscription, stuck with first-party Nintendo games and a handful of third-party games for online only.
>Yeah, I'm sure they really don't want you to buy their online services.
Seems that way to me. They are going out of their way to make their online services worse than the competition in every way.
Internet play is free until fall, and nothing is set in stone until then.
The point is that they have to prove their online is now high quality so people buy into it, so having dedicated servers is a must.
we'll see. Other than some reports, we haven't seen Nintendo's online play for the Switch yet.
I would imagine that at least they'll give it a decent effort overhauling the online stuff, especially given their expansion into the mobile phone game market.
