So I've been thinking about getting a Vita (mainly for ps1 games) but I want opinions. Is it worth buying one for ps1 games and weeb shit?

I love mine precisely for my dumb weeb shit and ports of old games.

As with any system, don't take out word for it, do your own research because we can't possibly know your exact tastes. Check a list of released games and make sure there are several you want.

I strongly recommend Soul Sacrifice Delta if MH-style games are even remotely appealing.

I enjoyed my PSP more for PS1 games simply because I got to store many different ones.

On the Vita the storage is so expensive so that you have to shuffle around stuff a lot. Personally I cant stand it, especially with the way Sony locked down their system which makes transfers annoying.

The dual analogs are really nice for PS1 games though.
Its a shame.

If you DO want one for PS1 games you should try to get one with a firmware low enough to mod it. Many PS1 games arent on PSN which is annoying. Or just see if your favorite PS1 games are on it.

Literally get the Slim if you plan on playing PS1 games. OLED suffers from a burn-in problem.

Buy a PSP for that purpose instead.

Don't. Vita is twice the resolution of a PSP, so it upscales PS1 games, making it a much better experience.

PS1 games still render at the same resolution so it hardly makes a difference.

Do you even own a Vita? PS1 games look better on the Vita. I did a side by side comparison with my PSP 3000 and Vita Slim, and FFVII looked much better.

PS Vita is probably the best handheld in the market for playing some what popular games that alot people play on PC Darkest Dongoun, Xcom(runs fine), Skullgirls (plays fine), some great first party shit, Risk of Rain, and etc

It's worth the money plus just get the 32 GB since that's all you need

I have both a 3000 and a Go. Don't really use the Go anymore since the battery is pretty garbage and I'm not sure how to replace it.

I actually use to own an OLED, but I didn't like how it looked and felt. Glad I went with a Slim since all I do is play FF games (and plus, no burn-in).

I wouldn't. I tried playing Rayman on there and I just kept crouching for whatever reason as I think the trigger buttons are mapped to that awful rear touch pad. Why they would do that for a place most would rest their hands is beyond me. Should have just added the extra triggers.

They look a little better thanks to the higher quality LCD panel, but not enough to justify buying a significantly more expensive platform with more expensive memory when all you want is to play some 90s ROMs. The twin sticks should be your deciding factor desu.

No. A Vita with Henkaku can do pretty much anything a PSP can do, and it'll do it better.

And if you really really want MH you can get the PSP ones.

But yeah SSDelta is one of the best ones, but at the same time one of the less MH-like hunting games.

I dont even play that much weeb, even though I am not opposed to it and still find a lot of use for my vita. If you commute, dont have much time, or are sometimes too tired to sit in front of the screen for 5-6 hours the vita is great
It has a nice collection of arcadey games that can be played in short sessions, going for hight scores if you like that kinda thing. The weeb section is definitely is its strongest suit. rpg and monster hunter clones are in abundance. You can also play a bunch of psp games on it

I had one too, it so badly lacked software development but it played genesis games well enough, so I did love mine. Sadly the stick wore out which is a shame because it's such a nice stick.

Funny too, it was working for 2 years. I'm not that bummed out on it dying since I had a free 16gb that came with the Vita but the saves were a huge loss. Especially since I was about to finish Odin Sphere and Estival Versus.
