TV adaptations will never be good.
DMC
Ape Escape anime had some shitty 2.5 animation
pokemon was nice during the first season, same for medabots and yugioh.
They finally adapt the games for once but hire a company that guts the hype music.
It was good though. It just only had half of the episodes dubbed, by none of the original VAs at that thanks to union BS.
Also, Sprocket is fine as fuck.
whats shitty about this
...
I think it's the animation, in the first episode, you can see Spike's face coming close to the camera at the point it was obviously flat
youtube.com
But if the anime wasn't weird enough, there was also the cartoon
I dunno about you but I loved it's theme even before it became a meme
I liked the OP ad ED of Beatiful Joe.
Street Fighter II Victory could have been good, but it turned out to be so bad that it was ironically good.
What about movies, why are they always bad?
I've never seen full episodes of this show but i always thought this show was the best visual representation of the modern sonic series.
Anyone know if its actually good?
Nah it's fucking garbage, it's only slightly redeemable in the arcs that just adapt SA1 and 2
Pretty much what the first guy said and also the voice actors are all terrible. I once took a shitload of LSD and watched Sonic X on a friend's recommendation and I shit you not my dad came into my room wondering what was making all of these awful noises.
Even with nostalgia glasses on, I can admit that pokemon anime was pretty shit
I actually liked the idea of the DMC anime of being about Dante in his downtime, and doing smaller jobs. It's a nice window into his character when he isn't being cuhrazy. But yeah, shame it's not that great.
Was Viewtiful Joe a difficult game?
I remember when I was younger it kicked my ass every new area, especially after the shark boss.
forgot pic
OH GOD NO
Holy shit
There must have been a grand total of 15 frames of animation during that entire opening
I really liked the soundtrack to the show, i'll give it that.

I actually unironically like the Japanese third season more than the others. X honestly had some of the better portrayals of the characters in Japanese
I got stuck on the magnificent five on Viewtiful difficulty.
Hey, could be worse user
He could be a pokemon for a silly high school kid and his friends
What? It was pretty good
>let's make adaptions of these action games but give it no budget
>oh no why are they failing
Is there a more raped series than Mega Man?
...
At least they used a couple classic robot masters, and they more or less look like they should. It's already more accurate than Captain N.
Don't bully Captain N. They worked with what they had (which was nothing).
Hell, even the guy who drew the box art to Megaman 2's American release only got to see a highlight reel of Japanese footage, with no context.
>They worked with what they had (which was nothing).
They had a blue sprite, and still managed to fuck that up.
How did they manage to get everything all the way down to his color wrong? I mean, I guess they could be the victim of bad communication. But that's some fundamental failure.
I'm surprised they knew he was a robot.
It's horrible. Packed to the brim with inappropriate anime tropes. It contains every stereotype you could imagine and is flavorless as fuck.
Pokémon was nice for the first season, DP and XY, and it's alright so far in SM. Jotho, Hoenn and Best Wishit were beyond awful though.
Like any Kamiya game, it's very difficult on your first couple playthroughs, but eventually it clicks and you're getting rainbow V's on every mission.
The hate for the basic premise of Battle Network may be well founded, but at least the games are actually good, and they reference Megaman on enough levels that it pretty much warrants being a part of the series.
It's not that interesting of a premise for an anime to be honest. Making a DMC3 adaptation or a prequel before that would have been much better for Dante's character
This. Once you fully understand the mechanics, you can really lock it down. I struggled on Kids mode, and before I knew it I had beaten the game on Ultra V-rated.
One of the artists wasn't provided references: he was provided games. So he played them on his blurry, off-hued Australian CRT, drew what he saw, and sent it back.
Nobody at any point during the revisions said "wait, that's not right".
Sonic X was one of those anime that got killed in the localisation process. 4kidz was the biggest mistake in the dubbing business, and they ruined several localisations of what were good shows over in Japan.
Don't listen to this anus, Sonic X is bad in the JP version too
Don't get me wrong, 4kids are fucking awful, to the point that they've gotten sued over the shitty localizations they've done, but they're far from the biggest problem with X
Was Sengoku Basara good?
This.
What really bothere me was Chris Thorndyke stealing Tail's role as Sonic's Sidekick or the fact that Sonic only had three spikes on his head.
4kids didn't add sentai villain nonsense. 4kids didn't add bland robot sidekicks and what looks like a retarded digimon to Robotnik's team. 4kids didn't add Chris.
I forgot that happened.
>Actually hating Battle Network
fuck you
>Tfw people defend 4Kids because they made Yugioh meme-tier as if that was a good thing
This autism right here. Battle network is gay gay gay
>BN
>worse than that ""Mega Man""
>Viewtiful Joe and Mega Man get dubs
>I can't even find Bomberman B-Daman at all, sub or no subs
This is bullshit
But Viewtiful Joe and mega man are pretty awesome
>implying BN isn't "Mega Man".
BN is certainly more Megaman than that overly neon thing with a weird face
>His name was Thorndyke
>Thorn
>Dyke
This always made me laugh i dunno why
Viewtiful Joe is awesome in principle, but I don't remember the cartoon being that great.
And which Megaman do you mean? Because Ruby-Spears wasn't a dub.
>ONE PIECE NIGGA ONE PIECE
Was it actually any good? I loved Viewtiful Joe and never got to see the anime when it came out.
>tfw Joe will never be in Smash
Was this any good?
Remember only watching it briefly
youtube.com
It was alright. Nothing ground breaking, it was just a shounen with an F-Zero skin. It did give us this though
I too remember how Megaman is a tamogachi for a grade schooler so he can get in pokemon battles with his weird looking friends.
Not really. Although I didn't mind Blue Jr. or Sprocket. They were OK additions to the cast.
5D's and Arc-V FAR surpass the original Yugioh.
So have you really not played them or what? Your spite is pretty ill-founded.
Dumb tripfag
Pokemon was only shit because of how every following season was identical to the last. But the first season had some pretty unique ideas, since it was the first time around.
Not him, but:
With the exception of the GC game weren't all of the MM:BN games turn-based RPGs?
Parappa the Rapper got an anime for some reason but it also got one of the most comfiest openings i've ever heard/seen
But he's not wrong...
No, they're active time battles with real time dodging and strategy.
You wait for your bar to charge to select battle chips, but everything else is up to you to do on a grid in real time.
>he kept watching once motorcycles showed up
zozzle
Ash also had more personality.
Yeah, they flanderized the fuck out of him. I hate how much of a retard he became.
>download season 1 of the Johto saga
>team rocket
>every
>fucking
>episode
I don't remember it being that bad
EDDIE
>yugioh
Manga is far better than the anime.
>Trap Spike
I didn't know I wanted this but I do.
They literally killed One Piece's best possible start at getting a foot in the door in the U.S. along with Naruto and Bleach, OP's popularity. Everywhere else, it outshines in popularity and outsells it's counterparts by miles, except in the fucking U.S because 4Kids butchered the localization turning away many people
Holy shit, I'd forgotten that this was a thing. Was there a movie to go along with this? I think I rented such a thing from Blockbuster in the olden days.
I got mine from Hollywood Video when I was younger. I never saw it again after I returned it.
>my One Piece manga volumes still have Zolo instead of Zoro to this day because Viz had to change it because of 4kids
Fuck 4kids.
Yeah, it wasn't the shitty art and "I wanna be the best" MC at all.
>tfw Candy Kong has vanished from the vidya
Hey man, as far as "I'm the greatest, BELIEVE IT!" MCs go Luffy is pretty damn good. That said, I don't think anyone watches OP for Luffy. The supporting cast is what really makes the show, kind of like Dragonball.
It's totally understandable that people don't like it though, I wasn't a fan of One Piece until my roommate started watching it and I got hooked in one of the more actiony parts of the CP9 arc.
>could have been the checkpoint
>instead we get some out of place ugly pig with an unfunny name
I remember renting it and the episodes were played out of order. Diddy had a flashback of events that happened in later episodes.
>F-Zero- was never about Captain Falcon, he only did Falcon stuff the last episode
>Mario 3/SMW- shit budget, fucked up audio/color pallete/ other shit way too often
>Megaman- writing/ voice direction
They all had at least 1 flaw from making them fantastic
Donkey Kong is his own set of bananas. Now i could talk a good while about that show.
At least they got Mike Polluck for Eggman.
Try giving Generations shot
>tfw Retro says they're making new Donkey Kong Country games
>turns out they're actually remaking the wrong Rare franchise and it's Banjo Kazooie games
>That said, I don't think anyone watches OP for Luffy
Actually unlike other Goku clones I find Luffy's idiocy to be a guilty pleasure and a lot more endearing than the rest of the idiot heroes on the market.
Oh, Megaman.
Fucking Heathcliff? Do kids even know who he is?
OG=>5D's>Arc-V>=GX>>>>>>>>>>>>Shit>>>>>>>>>DaS2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Zexal
Yuya is too much of a faggot with his entertainment duel shit, while Yusei and Atem are 100% serious shit.
Why is this so oddly nostalgic? I've never seen this
>classism
>mass human sacrifice
>the prison arc
It was unexpected
>Do kids even know who he is?
They still make the comic. I don't know if any kids still read the funnypapers though.
>realizing now
>not during that period of Battle Network, Zero, ZX, Star Force
>the first real Megaman game didn't come out until 9
The Dark Ages of Mega Man were true suffering.
Given how my expectations for Mega Man's new cartoon were already below rock bottom, this actually looks a lot more promising than it sounded. Still no hopes for it though.
The general opinion I've seen on the anime is that it's a pretty mediocre slice of life; most people disliked the new OC's, and Parappa never actually rapped or did anything actually related to the game. Both the opening themes and animations are great though.
