Is Witcher 3 worth the buy?

Is Witcher 3 worth the buy?

Absolutely, and for some reason they even gave me the first expansion when I did (because I already own 1 and 2 maybe?)

Just honestly a great game, especially when the difficulty is a bit higher. Mixing potions, signs and doubletap dodges through combat feels great.

If the story interests you, and you want to play a badass, then maybe.

But the controls feel like wading through sewage. Fucking horrible controls, I don't know how they thought it was ok.

I refunded my purchase

wait for a sale then buy

If you like being bored, sure

This.

If you enjoyed the other games and want more of the story/world/characters, then this is a must buy.

If you're looking for a fun game, then give this a pass. The combat system is a mess and the game is padded to hell with cutscenes, travel time, and other useless bloat.

If you beat the game at 100 hours I'd bet that 33 or less of those hours were spent actually "playing" the game.

Yes, but avoid gwent

It's a good cinematic experience if you play on the easiest difficulty and keep combat to a minimum

Can be easily pirated with no DRM.

If you like it, then buy it. That's what I do for almost all PC games.

They've added a new control scheme because of all the whining. Just set it to "Alternative"

If you're complaining about too much to do, then just ignore most points of interest. There's nothing stopping you from just doing the main quests, whatever side quests interst you and then any POI you come across. You'll be fine on levels and can easily beat the game in 20-30 hrs

Yeah it's amazing. And so is Gwent

I'll look into the Alternative control scheme.
But does it fix the fact that you can't just turn around? And instead have to do a small half-circle just to look backwards?
Also, I definitely don't want a game that I just rocket through. I played the hell out of Dogma, and was hoping for something similar. But exploring just doesn't quite feel the same. I'm not sure why. I'm not very far into it though, so maybe it gets better

>what are mods

yes that is exactly what is fixed by alternative controls

they added it in in like June 2015. It's been there forever

Yes. It changes it so you can turn on one foot.

Also the game is great, but the expansions are absolutely amazing. Don't bother buying it without them.

No, it's not even worth wasting your time with on a pirate honestly. Just play literally any other open world game and have a better time.

I can get them later, right?

pirate it and see if you like it, i bought it and had a blast playing it for about 25 hours over a long weekend, then i got burnt out and anytime ive tried to play it since i cant get into it.

same happened with witcher 2 desu.

You can, yeah but honestly I don't even remember how good the base game is anymore, Hearts of Stone has an obscenely better story and characters and BaW is just the sweetest ending to a game series I've ever seen

desu

Do you like the idea of playing as a Witcher?

If yes, yes. If no, no. If you dont know what a Witcher is then 50/50 you hate/love it.

The actual gameplay of the game is fucking atrocious though, so either you enjoy the story or you might as well not play.

>Atrocious

Seriously? It's not fucking Devil May Cry or something but atrocious is massive hyperbole.
